Hey everyone! I'm Rachel and yesterday was a crazy day to say the least! I went to the information session at my school for the Disney College Program! The program started at 6:00(I was like 15 minutes early!) and it was so awesome to see the video that I've read about. I won a pen since I knew that there was a Disneyland in Hong Kong! But anyways, I stayed after like 30 minutes to talk to a girl who has done the program before and it was awesome getting to hear her stories. She worked attractions and told me some amusing stories of times when the rides would break down and how they would play with the kids. Anyways, it was awesome and afterwards I was just 120% sure that I had to apply for this program! I have waited 3 years in college to be able to apply and since I'm finally graduating in December, I was finally able to apply. After the info session, I went to the library on campus and filled out the first part of the application. It took me about 30 minutes since it was a basic job application(just with some Disney touches!) I left, got dinner, and went back to my apartment. At 10:30, I checked my e-mail and there was the interview saying that I needed to complete the web-based interview! It took me about 40 minutes to do that and I didn't answer one of the questions, but luckily it still said I was a strong candidate! :yay: It said that I would have to wait 24 hours to get the phone interview e-mail, BUT

At 11:30, I got the e-mail saying that I needed to schedule it! I scheduled it for Thursday at 10:30 AM and I could NOT be more excited. I went to Disney World for the first time when I was 4 years old and now that I'm about to graduate from college, I could potentially go back to work for the mouse.

I'm finally posting on the DISboards to get advice from CP Alums and anyone else who is applying for spring 2012. What should I know for Thursday? Through the years and reading blogs, I've got an idea of SOME questions, but any other advice would be MUCH appreciated. Hopefully I will talk to you all soon.

~Rachel.

Also, if you have tumblr...my disney tumblr is dreamofdisney.tumblr.com! My twitter is lovelikerachel4. I'd love to meet other CP people! :)

Hi Rachel! My name is Jessica and I'm a cp alumni! My biggest advice is to smile during the interview, and a lot of people say to write down some possible answers to questions. I wish I had done that!
I have a tumblr mines www.drmdisneymem.tumblr.com
Don't be shy to ask us any questions on here :) good luck on thursday and lots of pixie dust your way!

So I replied to you on Tumblr (I saw that before I saw this), but HI JESSICA! :) I have a few post-it notes with things like "smile", "if you can dream it, you can do it" and "pixie dust for luck!" I see that you were merchandise, that's my number one choice! I'm really scared that I waited too late to apply. I was going to apply in September when they came out, but I thought I had to go to an info session first! Is there anything else besides writing down possible answers to questions that you wish someone would have told you before you went through the process? I know it is going to be a fun interview so I'm more excited than nervous, but it IS for something that I've wanted for over three years so that's what makes me nervous. Disney is my favorite company, so getting to work for them would be such a privilege!

I can't think of anything else that I wish I would have known...hmmm...
Also don't be worried about applying so late, I applied a bit later too before I made it down and it all ended up find :) I understand you being confused about the presentation thing as it used to be that you had to attend one before you applied but this year they changed it. I am super glad though that I didn't have to do the wbi, that was the semester after I went down I believe that they started it. I am sure you will do great at the interview, just let your passion for wanting to do it show :D

Thank you for the advice! I really appreciate it! I have made my notes so I think I just need to relax, breathe, and just do the best I can. I know how passionate I am about wanting to do this program and normally I am pretty good about expressing this passion. I will be talking to someone from Disney, so chances are I will have no problem smiling the whole time! haha. My top four choices are merchandising, costuming, attractions, and vacation planning. I used to work at a restaurant as a greeter so I COULD do FSFB, but since it's not really related to my Merchandising, Apparel, & Textiles major with a Business minor, I feel like one of the other four would be best for me. Especially the first two! :) I've already watched one Disney movie tonight to get me even more excited. :yay:
