I have twins with autism and at this time very poor communication skills. They have been to Disneyland at two with gac and Disney world at almost 4 with das. Our next trip will be in September of 2017. They will be seven. They have already outgrown their twin stroller. At home every place we want to take them allows a wagon and we have a nice big one with seatbelts. I know at Disney wagons are a no. My husband has nerve damage that will keep him in a scooter so he can't push however we will be taking an assistant. So my first question is is there a twin option and if not what do folks recommend and where should I rent it. Also if assistant wants to take a day for himself how would attaching their cares systems side by side on an extra wide manual wheelchair fly.

I have seen medical stroller that has a 100 pound weigh limit I am pretty sure it was not a 2 set stroller depending on how big they are at the time a bigger 2 setter I would look at some of the disney stroller site and see if they may have one

I have not seen a double-stroller for special needs. You might be able to find a regular double-jogger with a high weight-limit, though whether that would be high enough for 2 7-yr-olds would depend on their size(s).

We use a Maclaren Major Elite for DD. It is styled much more like a large umbrella stroller than many of the special needs strollers. I don't know if there might be a way to connect 2 of them -- I know there are attachments you can buy to connect 2 regular-sized umbrella strollers. It is a very basic special needs stroller, though, so depending on your children's needs it may or may not be an option.

I think your last question is asking about a suggestion to put both children into an oversized wheelchair. I suppose that might be an option, though I'm not too sure how comfortable that might be since the sling-type seat of a wheelchair tends to position the rider in the middle of the seat. Most manual wheelchairs will not have seatbelts, so if either of your children are "elopers" the wheelchair won't help to contain that. Could you plan a day at the resort to coincide with the day your care assistant takes off? That way you might not need a stroller to get around the resort.

Enjoy your vacation!

Cares system is a harness and seatbelt designed for use by children on aeroplanes. But the straps are adjustable and you can fit them on many types of chairs. And yes we run.

Ah, yes, I've heard of and seen that. Never made the connection that's what you meant. Sorry.

How big are your children? My family travels with a soon to be 7 and 4 year old. My 4 year old is the one with the disability (which has expanded in the last year). We rented a City Mini Double last year from a local stroller place. This year we are renting a City Mini GT Double. It's on the higher end for weight limit. I don't know if you need a lot of extra storage space, but they do have a good amount of space. They are also pretty light weight for a double.
