My first Hydrangea!

I've always wanted some Hydrangeas, and this little beauty is a start!

Pink Elf ~ Hydrangea Macrophylla "Pia" It only grows 18" tall and 24" wide, so I'm thinking of putting it in a container to keep on the deck.

Does anyone else have one of these?

I'd like to get a bigger, blue one also, for a spot against the back fence. One thing at a time!

I absolutely adore hydrangea! I have several....but no pink and I'm too lazy to put lime into the soil!

I bought a Nikko hydrangea years ago but quickly killed it.

But my panniculate hydrangea is doing really really good! I'll post pictures when it blooms.

Snowwark: Your hydrangea is beautiful. Are you going to try to keep it pink? I know it depends on the soil but most hydrangeas here are blue. I cut and moved one 2 summers ago and this year it is covered with buds. I'm so excited and can't wait for it to bloom. I'll post pictures as well.

Mary, here's a link to a great site (gorgeous pics, including little Pia..lol..), about changing the colour of hydrangeas. If I grow her in a container it makes it easier to manipulate the soil, and hopefully I'll be able to keep her in the pink!

Wait. Didn't Gina post pictures of her grasses? And wasn't she the one that posted pictures of the basket with a hole in that she puts over her iris (or gladiolas or sumthin?).

Oh my gosh!!!! I just realized....that isn't my picture...it's from the Monrovia site..yikes!! I didn't mean to give the impression that that was a pic I took, why it's much too good to be one of mine!!
