My First Ever iPod!

I got my first ever iPod yesterday on Christmas. It's the latest version of the iPod Nano and it's blue. I am attached to it, I love listening to it. Anyone else get an iPod for Christmas?

Got my DD a i-pod touch and if she can figure out how to transfer her music from her nano to the touch and from the desk top to her laptop all will be great!!!???

Welcome to the obsession! I've had iPods since the 1st-gen nanos came out; I admit, I bought one solely because it was pink. Loved it, loved it, LOVED IT until I accidentally cracked the LCD screen during an argument with my now-ex-boyfriend...I still blame that b**tard for that one! Watching the black goo ooze out of the crack was like watching something I loved slowly die. Very painful experience. Since then, I've also owned an apple-green nano (also 1st-gen), a second-gen nano, an iPod Photo, an iPod Video, an iPod Touch--which I returned because I hated it, and an 80GB iPod Classic, which I adore. I use it daily in the car and almost all day long at work 5 days a week...take away either it or my Blackberry, and you may as well lop off one of my arms.

If I may, I'd suggest going to ilounge.com. They've got, IINM, a whole FAQ about transferring music from an iPod to a computer, and will probably be able to answer any subsequent questions that may come up. I've never done the process myself. Good luck!

Welcome to the club! I own 3 iPods, and I love them! I didnt get an iPod for Christmas yesterday, but I did get a new charging dock/alarm clock for my bedside table. The charging docks are wonderful! You can listen to your tunes and charge the iPod without hooking it to the computer! Enjoy!

For my Christmas present DW signed off my upgrade to Nano from Shuffle. DD11 now has the Shuffle which she loves, and I am loving my Nano. I've had it about a week and am still getting used to it.

Related question... Have any Nano owners ever had a Genius playlist disappear? I made one a few days ago, and just now when I was synching it disappeared. The title is still there but the list is empty.

Best Buy has a bunch of skins and cases; if you're looking to order something online, try iFrogz. I got a WONDERFUL skin for my Classic there a few years ago that's held up through some unbelievable punishment, and their prices are extremely reasonable (and they've been having sales left, right, and sideways here lately...I've been getting emails from them weekly about new things being half- or 40% off or whatever.) Tons of colors, too.

ETA: Just saw they've got a 50%-off everything sale that's only going on through 11:59 pm MST, so you might wanna hurry.

Am I missing something? I see only 3 options of the touch. I've already been to Best Buy and they are picked over from Christmas. I love these: http://www.iskin.com/nanovibes/ but they don't have them for the touch!

I got an iPod Shuffle - not for Christmas though. I actually won it! I was the team captain for the Diabetes Walk and one of the sponsors held a drawing for all the team captains and I won.

I love mine and so for Christmas I got some iTunes gift cards!

I got one of these too. I keep mine in the kitchen to listen to when I'm cooking or cleaning or whatever.

I got the new hot pink 4th generation nano for Christmas to replace my old pink mini! I am loving it! DH got me the walking case and strap too, since everyday walking/exercise is when I use it the most.

My kids put some of their videos and TV shows on it too, so now I have something to do when waiting on DD at dance, etc.

No offense to those who have the latest skinny nano, But i just have to say I'm not feeling the skinny nano love. I have a 3rd generation fatty nano and i just love it. It's a very pretty shade of green and it has my name engraved on the back. i got the warm fuzzies for it as soon as i tried it out. I've gone to the Apple store and have tried the new ones and I'm just not feeling it. I'm hoping my 3rd gen nano lasts a long, long time. Anyone else attached to their iPod like i am??

i'm waiting for my 4th gen ipod nano to arrive (late christmas gift from DH) - have an older ipod mini in blue - looking forward to my new skinny silver ipod!
