I am the same way. I am a big history person and love reading about the Titanic, Russian Revolution and the Romanov family, the Holocaust.

I've been to the one in Atlanta and the one in DC. I thought they were both really cool. Of course, I'm really interested in the Holocaust. The Holocaust museum in DC is set up so that you don't have to see anything really creepy if you don't want to, but I don't know where you're going.

I went to the dc one about 2 years ago. It was sad... I couldn't even finish looking...They gave you this passport sort of thing with a picture of someone who was in there. Mine was a little girl. She lived but no one else in her family did. I just kinda started feeling some eerie stuff...

Its sad and learning about it again (world history in high school) makes me more upset.

Another thing that went on during that time was the rape of Nanking...

No one talks about that...It was horrible what they did...Just as bad or worse then the holocaust

I had to read The Devil's Arithmetic (the book) this year (8th) I had to watch the movie in 6th...we watched it during our fruit break We didn't even talk about it. We just randomly saw the movie and started talking about it. I've watched a long movie about it in 8th grade too. We just finished talking about it. We had to read the play of The Diary Of Anne Frank..and the seeing the play, too.

I was in a show called "Brundibar". It was performed in Auschwitz/Terezin by children. It was basically about overcoming Hitler and "evil", just using symbolism.

When the children performed it... it was performed in czek so the Nazi's didn't know what it was really about.

For our performance we had a lady that was actually in the show as a child come and speak afterwards every night. She told her story, had her 'star' and... it was just amazing. Emotional.

The holocaust interests me... along with school shootings.

Btw. Her name is Ella Weissberger, if anyone wonders.

I read Night in 8th grade (3 years ago).
I also went to the Holocaust museum here in Dallas in 8th grade. It was fascinating. We had a Holocaust survivor come talk to us and we got to hear her speak on her first day on the job. The only problem was, the whole 8th grade went, and our class was at the back of the room and the lady was really quiet and it was almost impossible to hear. We could hear the street noise over her - she needed a microphone pretty badly. It was still really cool. We got to ask her questions & stuff. I don't remember much about it, but I'd really like to go back.

Yes I've been to the one here in the city with school...(New York City that is)
It's sad of course...and cold, but it's so interesting to see all the stories of the people who experienced all these horrible things. Yes you do have to be quiet, because it's a memorial. It's a good experience and I recommend you go.

I went to the one in Washington DC. It was really sad. The one part that really got me was when we walked through one of the trains that carried the people to the concentration camps. That really moved me. It was so small in there. It's a really interesting trip though. You'll learn a lot.
