My family's 1st trip to WDW. Update 11/28 So Sad It Is Our Last Day Pg 10 Final Post

Great pics and great food porn!! Yummy!!!popcorn:: Hmm..next time?!!! Woohoo!!!:thumbsup2

Thank you princess&her4princes for being such a faithful reader. I am glad you enjoyed the food porn. Would you believe that since I posted I saw the buy 4 nights get 3 free promo and requested a quote from Dreams Unlimited?:cool1: I don't think it will happen but a girl can dream right? :cloud9: We are pretty set on a Washington DC trip. We also may make a trip to see family in Colorado too. We can only travel so much in one year. :sad1: I do have my heart set on another trip in 2010. I see by your signature that you have a trip coming up soon too. I bet you are getting excited.

The pictures are great! Glad to hear you liked CP. I'd like to eat there the next time we go.

I've loved reading your report and I'm sad to see it come to an end. But maybe you'll do another one this coming year...I'm intrigued by the buy 4 get 3 promo, too, but we're not supposed to be thinking about it for another 2 years, either. :sad2: But my wheels are spinning, too!!!

Yes, one month from right now we'll be finishing our first day in MK....I can not wait!!!!!!!!!!! We took our children last September for their first trip and this this we're going with my best friend from Philly and her family. Our middle children were both born on Christmas morning and we moved from Philly before their first birthdays so we're celebrating their birthdays together in Disney, for the first time together. :santa:

I'm toying with a TR, but not sure if I can do it or have the time to do it...but it may be interesting with 6 children under the age of 6!:scared1: :rotfl:

Looking forward to the next installment......:surfweb: Have a nice night!!:flower3:

Thanks for posting your entire TR! It was a really fun read, and I enjoyed seeing all the pictures. The kids clearly had the time of their lives, what wonderful memories for all of you!

Maria

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:
This would be an interesting TR. I can think of many funny titles but I am I don't want you to get too scared and not go on your trip. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

PM me your titles.....I could use the laugh!!! Don't worry, you can't scare me, I'm the one that booked this trip!! LOL!!:rotfl:

I not going to send you a PM because maybe we can get something fun going here. I guess I didn't think as many as I thought but here are a couple of titles:

HOW I SURRIVED THE WORLD WITH 6 KIDS UNDER 6 WITH NO CPS INVOLVEMENT

MICKEY, ME, SIX KIDS UNDER 6 AND A SUITCASE OF VALIUM

We had just finished our breakfast at Crystal Palace and we are off to face the world. We had goals today. There were still many attractions we hadn’t done yet and many we wanted to do again. Of course our number one thing that we wanted to do again and again and again was of course Space Mountain so we head there first and grab FP. Our second goal, ok it wasn’t my goal but my family’s goal was to get me on Astro Orbiter again. Please refer to my first post when I describe the last time I road that ride in 1989. I thought I can certainly do this again. I know what to expect this time and I am way braver than when I was 23 years old. We decide that I should ride with Goofy. He is thinking that it is his lucky day so he can see his mother go bizerk. Well he was right, I went bezerk. Goofy kept moving that bar up and down and I was screaming “If you move us one more time I will ground you for life!” I meant it too. There is something about this ride that I just can’t handle. I felt like I was going to fall out. I very rarely say never but I WILL NEVER RIDE ASTRO ORIBITER AGAIN!!!!! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

After I calm down it is off to one of the rides we haven’t done yet, Tomorrowland Speedway. Mickey and Ariel go on the left side and the rest of us go on the right side. The right side moves a lot quicker so Mickey can take a few pictures:

IM001162.jpg

Next is another ride on Barnstormer.

IM001168.jpg

We like this ride and there is no wait so we ride twice
We haven’t done The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh yet so here we are in our honey pots.

im0011692.jpg

Next we see that there is no waiting on the teacups. Yipee!!!:cool1:

im001172.jpg

Since we have about 12 snack credits left we grab a couple of snacks despite the fact we are still full from the breakfast we had a couple of hours ago. Story time with Belle is about to begin so we head of to the castle to eat our snack.

Look who gets picked to play Maurice in the story.

IM001180.jpg

It is a cute show. We get to see Belle and Ariel is able to give out her final picture of the trip although there were a few princesses that missed out. I don’t think we ever got to see Jasmine, Ariel or Aurora.

That’s it for now. I have one more installation to go and then I get to start on the scrapbook.

I like the first title the best so far, any other ideas, anyone?:confused3 They are not all my children, we're going with my best friend and her 3, too. I keep saying to her, misery loves company, we're in this together!! lol!!:rotfl:

Great update, can't wait your TR is ending, so soon?!!!!:sad1: I haven't done Astro since I was a kid, thinking we will skip that one this year, too!! LOL!!!

Great trip report, thanks for sharing.

I am with you on astro orbiter. At Disneyland I can handle Dumbo and Flick's Flyers (at DCA) but will not do Astro Orbiter. I assume it is the same at WDW. The one thing I figured out on the ride a few years back - is that it actually feels better if you are up high (and I don't like heights). At least for me... it feels like your car is tilted outward (like you may fall out) the lower your car is. The higher I was the more even the car felt.

I am glad you like that one. I don't want to give out too much personal info but I actualy work for a CPS agency and I have heard of many incidents happening at amusment parks. I wouldn't be surprised if Florida doesn't have a CPS office set up very close to the entry of WDW if not somewhere inside the grounds.

Don't give me tips. I may get daring and try it again. :scared1: :rotfl: :scared1:

While I skipped Dumbo to get Space Mountain FP I did ride the Tricatop Spin and the carpet ride with no problems and actually enjoyed it. I am glad to find out that I am not the only one with astro orbiter issues.

Awww...that's a shame that things like that happen, even at WDW, poor babies!!:sad2:

Still haven't talked to my BFF to see if it's okay for me to do a TR or not with her kids involved. I have three more weeks until our trip, I"ll let you know if I decide to do one or not!! :goodvibes

I think by now it is two weeks. I bet you are getting excited. Even if your friend doesn't want her kids posted, which I understand why she wouldn't, I would love to hear about your trip.

Great shot of such a magical moment! ;) I'm glad you had fun with Drizella at the Fla!

I am glad you like the picture. I tried to crop the waiter out but it wasn't happening. Thanks for posting.

I was hoping to do my final post this weekend but we were short staffed yesterday at work and they called me to work. I am hoping to go to church this morning and then I work again. I am not certain that I will make it to church though. I am not one of those people that has to go every Sunday and sometimes I need to just relax on Sunday mornings.

I think I am putting off the final post because, well it will be the final post. I feel like I can somehow prolong the actual trip if I keep reliving it through DIS. It is making me a little sad. :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

Ok, here it goes. This will be my final update. :sad1: Most people would be glad to have the feeling of "completion" but for me I think this means my trip is really over.

When I left you before we had just seen Story Time with Belle. It is now time to use our Space Mountain FP. Of course the ride doesn't let down. It is by far my favorite.

Here is a picture of us in line for something. If anyone can recongnize the blue posts let me know. I think it is too light to be space mountain. I think our next ride was Tomorrowland Transit but can't be sure anymore.

IM001183.jpg

Our feet hurt so we hop on the train to head over to Frontierland. Guess who gets picked to be guest conductor.

IM001185.jpg

We still haven't ridden Splash Mountain. As a matter of fact I have never ridden Splash Mountain. I am pretty certain that it has always been at WDW and don't they have one at Disney Land too? How I could have missed it is beyond me. We grab our FP and then decide on lunch which is Pecos Bills. Here is Goofy with his burger.

IM001187.jpg

I got the chicken wrap which is so huge I have to take a picture.

IM001186.jpg

By the way it was really crowded at Pecos Bills. A lot of people were eating outside. Somehow we got lucky and did find a place in the corner in the very back to eat. One of the worker's was giving away cookies to answer Disney Trivia. I know I won a cookie and I think when I think Goofy won too. We still have quite of few snack credits left so getting another cookie really wasn't what I needed.

I think we use the Splash FP next and then head over to Mickey's Philarmagic. We stop for these classic pictures on the way.

IM001189.jpg

IM001192.jpg

IM001193.jpg

After Micky's Philarmagic which by the way was a wonderful movie. Lots of neat surprises, we stop for our favorite snacks.....funnel cake and ice cream cookie.

IM001194.jpg

It is about 3:00 at this point so we decide it is time to leave but Mickey heads over to get some more Space Mountain FP for when we come back. The plan is for us to meet him at the bus stop. We have no intention of taking time to find a good spot to watch the parade besides we can watch as we walk along Main Street, right? But wait as we walk along Main Street we see a perfect empty spot right infront of the candy store. We of course stop to watch. Just as I try to send a text to Mickey telling him where we are at he shows up behind me. This was the only parade we actually stopped to see the entire trip. We are not big parade people but it was fun to watch.

IM001202.jpg

IM001204.jpg

We get back to our room for our final picture of Mrs Flabidee.

IM001205.jpg

I take Goofy and Ariel for their final swim. In the quiet pool. I can't believe we went the entire trip without one pool picture. :confused3 I start packing. :sad1: Everyone else takes a rest.

We decide to leave from the main bus depot so we can check our bill. I had found some popcorn that we hadn't finished so Goofy and Mulan feed the birds on their way to the front desk. I think Ariel forgot something or decided to change her clothes so we had to run back to the room.

im0012072.jpg

im0012062.jpg

I don't have but a few pictures and I don't think those were taken until just before we left. I have decided just to cut and past the remainder of my notes so here they are.

We leave and return at around 7:30 pm. The second parade just ended when we got there and it was insane so we hopped on the train at the entrance. We got off at Frontierland to get FP for BTMRR and then immediately got back on to Toontown for the quiet walk to SM. We used our FP for SM. The rest is a bit of a blur. At some point we got a FP for Buzz and go to Monster's Laugh Floor. We also road Splash again but used standby. I think this was pretty close to park closing. I know we watched the fireworks near the castle. We used our FP for Buzz after the start of EMH. We saw that the line for SM was only 30 min at 11:30. We didn’t think this was bad so we got in line. They had reopened the FP machines and I think the return time was 12:05 but I am not certain about this. They had technical problems as soon as we got in line so the wait did go a little over 30 min. This was our last ride of the trip and we left at around 12:30 am. The park didn’t seem too crowded when we left. If we had the energy EMH would have been well worth it. Overall MK did seem a little more crowded but not much.

Thank you everyone who have taken the time to read my TR. I hope it help those who are planning thier trips and those that are going through Disney withdrawl. I am so happy we got this trip and am looking forward to going again. Hopefully in 2010. Mickey belongs to an organization that is having its convention at The Swan which also happens to be two weeks after our 20th anniversary. I also want to take the kids to the Harry Potter part of Universal when it opens in 2010 or 2011. I don't know if any of those things will happen but a person can dream. :cloud9: I also have to tackle that slide some time at The Poly. :rolleyes1

Here is my final picture.

Hi Nancy,

So sad your report is over but hope there are more in the near future for you!! Thanks for sharing your trip with us all!! :goodvibes I'll let you know if I decide to write a report or not for my upcoming trip in just 9 more days!!!!!!!!!!:cool1:

Take care and happy holidays to you and your beautiful family!!
Kristen:flower3:

Nancy thank you so much for sharing your trip. I enjoyed "following" you and your family through the World. Love the last picture!

Hey - just caught this now and loved it. I'm a trip report lurker.... I open, read a few posts and if it doesn't catch me I leave. If I like it, I read until there are no more posts and then rarely return cuz I get sidetracked and can't remember where I left off. But yours held me! YAY! Maybe cuz your kids are so cute, or we're a family of 5?

I wanted to say that you have lovely children! I love how 'touchy' your kids are with eachother. The bus pictures, with the oldest with her head on your son was precious! A lot of siblings wouldn't even touch each other :)

So yay you! It was so nice to see! :cool1:

Now a few questions - how did your kids get picked for so many things - other than the obvious that they look really well behaved and are adorably cute? My 5YO daughter would just Loooove to be on stage with HSM3. Any tips or tricks?

Hi Nancy,
Just found your report and read it all in one sitting. Thanks for sharing your trip with us. You have a beautiful family and it looks like you had a great time in WDW. Loved your photos. Aren't we all so lucky to be able to go to Disney?

I have to confess that I'm mostly a lurker and don't comment very often. However, I now realize that the poster appreciates the feedback. Great job!

Nora
