My family's 1st trip to WDW. Update 11/28 So Sad It Is Our Last Day Pg 10 Final Post

When I last wrote we were just leaving MK to go to 1900 Park Fare for dinner. We hop on the monorail. Mulan is looking a little tired.

The Grand Floridian is a magnificent hotel. Mickey is very impressed by the chandelier.

I am impressed by the live music in the lounge area. It is a very nice touch. I go check in and we wait to be called. There are a lot of people waiting. We wait and wait and wait. Mulan even falls asleep on one of the couch in the lobby. I start to notice that there are people with a similar party size that haven’t waited nearly as long as have their pagers go off. I go and question the host. He tells me that they have already seated us. He gets our pager and says that this isn’t the pager that they gave us but they were just getting ready to call this pager. I am not sure what happened but we do get seated immediately.


The food here was nothing to get excited about but the character interaction was a blast.


Ariel gives Cinderella her pictures that she drew.

Lady Tremaine’s visit was quick. We really just took a quick photo.

Same with Anastasia’s visit.

Then it is time for dessert.

Drizella comes by during dessert. I only had one page for the evil steps in our autograph book. There isn’t much room left for Drizella to write her name. She makes a lot of funny comments about that is typical of her family not to leave any room for her. We love her expressions. She was by far my favorite character of the meal.

Not too long after she leaves Prince Charming comes by but they start the dance right then. He excuses himself so that he can dance with his princess. Drizella points at Goofy and says “Do you know how to dance?” He says “yes”, which surprises his mother. Drizella says “Good, because I don’t”. They end up having a good time dancing.

After the dance is over Drizella tells Goofy that she will be expecting a ring now.

Prince Charming comes back for a quick photo. We are ready to get out of there as it is 8:00 and we had a 6:00 ADR. We head back over to MK.

I can’t remember exactly we did when we got back. I think we did the magic carpets, Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise and the last performance of Tiki Lounge. All of these attractions had no wait.

We left the park right as the fireworks were starting with the promise that on our last night we would find a good spot to watch the entire show since we hadn’t done that yet.

Thank you. I only have one more day left. Hopefully this will be a completed TR by the end of the month. When I started this project I thought it would take two weeks.

Oh, I wish I was. We are planning a trip to Washington DC right now. As you may recall from my opening Mulan really wants to go there. I am hoping to go back in 2010 when Mickey has a conference there. It will be just a few weeks after our 20th anniversary. We won't be bringing the kiddos. I also hope to go again so we can go to Universal and see all their new Harry Potter stuff. My kids all love Harry. Mulan has read all the books multiple times. I think she could probably recite the books from memory.

One thing: I walked my legs to death! The next day my legs were so sore I could hardly walk. We did a lot of walking at WDW in June and I had no where near the soreness that I had from walking around DC.

Sorry...wasn't trying to scare you! There are tour buses and regular Metro buses. You could probably get passes for the bus to help you get around. I like walking but I just didn't realize how much I was doing. It probably would have helped if I had taken time to sit! So, if you can go at a leisurely pace you should be fine.

Oh, I really wasn't too terribly scared. A lot is lost in the written word. Maybe I should have added one of these or one of these or possibly this . If I can walk in WDW I can walk anywhere but somehow I feel like I will be less motivated when I am walking toward the Holocaust Museum vs Space Mountain.

Yes. I am able to post pictures again. I guess I forgot how to do it properly or I found a new way. I don't know. I am a little crazy like that.
Well here is what I wrote before I had problems last week.


SNOW WHITE ROCKS!

I am finally getting around to an update. It has been a busy crazy week. Parent/Teacher conferences were this week along with Ariel went to baskeball camp which was three evenings in row. I am almost done with the TR. After this quick update I just have one more day to go.

This update is just based on our interaction with Snow White and Dopey. It was so cute. I wanted to wait until we got our Photo Pass pictures back to include it. (I know I got our Photo Pass pictures back three weeks ago ) We actually took these pictures on our second day of vaction when we were at Epcot.

Ariel had made pictures for all the princesses. She had gotten a drawing table with a light that displayed princess images that you traced for her birthday last year. This was going to be our first opportunity to give a drawing to a princess. I wasn't sure how it would work out but Snow White had a lot of fun with it. You also have to imagine that Snow White sounds like the original Snow White.

So we walk up and the first thing Ariel does is hand the picture to Snow. She drawn a picture of Snow with the caption "Snow White you Rock!"

"Oh you drew me a picture?" says Snow.

Snow then says "You wrote 'Snow White You Rock!'. Is that something you say in your Kingdom?"

We all nod yes. Snow then turns to Dopey and says "Dopey, do I feel like a rock?"

We all are laughintg hysterically. It looks like the handler even wants to get in on the action.

I am not sure what Dopey is doing here but I am throwing it in anyway. I will update if my kids can remember. Right now they are all asleep.

You probably had to be there to grasp all the fun we had with Snow but she made it worth while to carry all of those princess pictures Ariel made through all the parks. Thanks Snow!!!! Also thanks to the PhotoPass guy who kept the camera going through the whole event.

And that, my friends, is why WDW rocks!!! You may think it's lost in the translation but I got a good laugh out of Snow White asking Dopey if she feels like a rock. And although I wasn't there it looks like Dopey is indicating something about their faces being painted.

This was our last day. We had a lot to do on this day. I decided early on that it would be cool to be inside the park before opening and eat breakfast at Crystal Palace despite the fact that we aren't big breakfast eaters. I was really worried about making it on time so I made our ADR for 8:15. As it turns out we got on the bus right away although Goofy is still half asleep.

We arrive in plenty of time and wait outside Crystal Palace for about 10 minutes. We took a lot of pictures.

Finally we are inside and we meet Tigger right away.

My cup of syrup is covering my favorite dish which was the breakfast lasagna. It was very good. It was more like a bread pudding with fruit.

The breakfast was very good and this was one of Mulan's favorite meals. She is the biggest breakfast eater in our family. She also was able to get choc. chip pancakes which is her favorite. It was well worth getting to the park early for the meal although I think next time we will eat later and get on the breakfast/lunch combo and everyone will be happy. (Note, I said "next time" )
