We had a great time! We just got back a midnight last night after spending our first ever week at the Fort and all the way home DH and I were talking about going back.
We tent camped in 2066 w/o AC. This actually wasn't bad. We had fans and the night was fine (but crazy hot during the day so we avoided it). The site itself was great. It provided shade while we set up and was near the bus stop and comfort station. I only saw one other green mickey in our loop and it was on the opposite end.
My kids made good use of the pool, sing along, movies, and playsets. They wanted to be back from the parks every night in time to catch the movies. I enjoyed the quiet.
The only complaint that I had at all was a group of kids (a teen girl was driving several younger kids) that was driving a golf cart around in the rain trying to do doughnuts at the corner by our campsite. This was very unsafe as she wasn't controlling the cart well at all. She only did it a couple of times. I'm going to guess that someone stopped her. Other than that, everyone and everything was great!
As for the parks, they were crazy hot, and crowded, but while there were plenty more people than what we are used to (we go in September & Jan/Feb), we didn't really wait long in lines (used FP).
I just wanted to say thanks to all of the great advice that you all provide everyday. It was so helpful. I now fully understand why you call yourselves fort "fiends". Its addictive! We hope to go back this winter. The Fort has officially made "Fiends" out of my family!
