Has anyone else had this? How do I get it to stop?

Since I woke up this morning my right eye (I think it's the eyeball and eyelid) has been twitching alot. It is driving me crazy all day and now all evening, and actually the right side of my head is throbbing tonight. I took the week off work to spend spring break with the kids so I don't have to worry about it affecting my ability to work. But I'm worried I will wake up tomorrow and it will still be twitching. It's beyond annoying at this point.

If anyone has had this, how did you get it to stop? :confused3

This used to happen to me a lot when I was tired and stressed from work. Its annoying. Just get lots of rest.

Feeling stressed or tired???? I get this on rough days and then it goes away.

If it continues for more than a day or so then it's time to call the doctor just to check especially since you mentioned the headache - another result from stress in some cases.

Hope it goes away soon :goodvibes

eye strain and being tired bring it on for me.

You can try hot faceclothes over your eyes too while you lay down for a little while. It might relax the muscles enough to stop the twitching.

Yup it happened to me when I was stressed too! Once I got a good nights sleep and had a balanced diet (3 meals a day!) my eye twitch went away!

I tried a new "tubing" mascara a few weeks ago. I put more on one eye than the other to test it out. I know I got some on my lid. I think it made one eye twitchy for a couple weeks. Luckily, it finally went away.

The headache would concern me, if neither goes away.

I think it's caused by fatigue. Just get a good night's sleep tonight. I hope you're asleep right now!!!

Thanks everyone...you're probably right about the fatigue. I never sleep more than 5 hours a night. I have chronic insomnia and my son wakes up at night. It's midnight here and I'm going to attempt to get to sleep!

When I first moved here, the driving scared me so badly that one of my eyelids twitched for 3 months.

Yeah, I definately agree with the others here- it's stress and/or lack of sleep! I have occasional problems with eye twitching as well. I feel for you! It's annoying!

I get that when I am stressed about something major. I have not had it in a long while.

Hope you get some rest OP!

I got this as well last March. My eyes were dry as a desert and I had no idea! Try an over the counter eye drop. It was the first time my eye had twitched ever......Stopped after 1-2 days of using the drops...

If it continues, tell your doctor. My eye twitched for years. I thought it was stress....turns out I had a tumor growing on my hearing nerve that was pressing on my facial nerve.

I went to the dr for this a couple years ago.... he said get some rest!! You're tried and stressed... calm down!! I said ok thanks... here's your money :)

If I'm really tired or stressed my eye will twitch. Some times, if I eat a banana it helps.

I'm another person that has to deal with eye twitches when I'm stressed. It usually goes away after a few day, though.

I know how annoying it is and I hope it stops soon for you. :flower3:

Thanks everyone, it was twitching first thing this morning, but has gotten better throughout the day. The only other weird symptom I have is occasionally my ear on that side will "flutter" and feel like there is air/fluid inside. I figure it's related to my allergies. Hopefully the twitching will be gone by tomorrow!

I have had this several times. Not sure exactly what causes it. I had it for two days before. Just wait it out, it will stop. :)
