at the Palace of Auburn Hills. I received free tickets through a cousin of mine who has connections with the Palace. Our tickets were the very last row up in the nose bleed section. We didn't care though since it would still be a great experience for our kids. My cousin Ann went with her 14 & 13 y/o & I took my 10 y/o DS.
During Bon Jovi's 4th or 5th song, a Palace employee offered us tickets close to the stage. Turned out we were moved up to about row 8!
My cousin & I were so excited, we were leaping down those steps to get us down to our new seats. I think we just left the kids in the dust we were leaping down those steps so fast!
My cousin's son said to me "I have a feeling this is one of those "once in a lifetime things, isn't it?" I said "yes it is!" (I thought it was pretty cool that he understood that!)
Anyway, we get to our new seats & we were dancing & singing & our kids were just looking at us with humiliation on their faces!
At one point my cousin took all the kids right up to the stage. They were standing right at the railing that separated the maniacs from the band! The kids were standing there very reserved & my cousin (in her mid 40's also) was dancing & jamming to the music! Her kids were saying "Mom! You're embarrassing us!"
Needless to say, we had a great time & that concert took us both back into our 20's again. If nothing else, we got to humiliate our children in public!
As a side note, that is the second time that's happened to me at the Palace. I think they choose people with kids because the last time that happened we were at a Barry Manilow concert & my friend had her daughter with us.
So just had to share our excitement of that evening!

Truthfully I'd like to know how he looks like he's just barely 30 when he's even a year older than me! (BTW ~ how have you been girlfriend??)
Thank goodness I wasn't seated there or my husband would have had to come bail me out of jail!
Distance was good for me!
