My Excitement!

In 24 hours we will be landing in LAX from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I will be going with my 2 daughters (4 and 6), my husband and my parents (who have not been since I was little.) I couldn't sleep at all last night! I am so excited/ nervous (I hate flying). I put my DH to bed at 9:00 and she was still up at 12:00. I think she is a bit excited as well. My mom has had her bags packed for a week. I really believe that the excitement of going to DL is half the fun. Before I go I just wanted to thank everyone for being so helpful. Also thanks so the travellers who posted so soon after getting back so I could have an idea what the park was like.

I wish I had the excitement of saying that I only had 24 hours till I landed. I still have 37 days but it's coming!

Hey I was just wondering, I'm from Calgary and I just wanted to know which airline your using? I bought my tickets back in June for a very, very decent price but then I was on the westjet website just the other day and they had flights from Calgary to LAX for $75.00!!!!!!!!!!! I could not believe it. It was cheaper to fly there than it was to fly to Edmonton or B.C.

Seriously, though, try to get some sleep, because it's not good starting off your trip sleep deprived and already tired! Tonight, for both you and your kids, make it a warm bath, soothing music, a little bit of protein for a snack before bed to keep your blood sugar stable, don't be rushing around till 2 a.m. thinking of last minute things. Try to get it all done by suppertime and relax after that, and get to bed early! Believe me, been there, done that, and learned my lesson! Oh, yeah, and try and stay real hydrated-- my kids and I always forget to drink lots of water before/while we're there, and we learned that we do SO much better when we're really pushing fluids. Makes for a lot of bathroom breaks, but it's worth it for how much better you feel!

We are flying with aircanada. We booked our tickets in May for about 400.00 each return. (back before fuel surcharges and luggage restrictions). My dad booked his trip 4 weeks after us and had to pay 900.00 (return).
We live 2 hours away from Edmonton so we are going there tonight as our flight leaves at 8am. So I have most of the packing done. I was up until 3am last night, stressing about everything but I feel a bit more relaxed now. (just stressed about the flight!)

Hey Canadisney we leave next Sat (23rd) for 2 weeks from Edmonton as well. We are flying Air Canada as well. I think you are on the same flight as we are just 6 days ealier lol. We paid $170 each way before taxes back in May as well. Thankfully we beat the fuel surcharge eh lol. Enjoy your trip and you never know we may run into each other.

That's a pretty good price. When I went to DL in June 2008 I had booked our tickets in April and I paid 650 I think for two tickets and that was with the tickets being 169. I was so happy at that price...and then I came back and booked another flight there and the same flight with the tickets on sale for 119.00 and the total came to 926 or something ridiculous like that.

This will definitely be my last trip down there for a while. Unless of course I ever come across that 75.00 seat sale again. I love finding seat sales though lol, last summer I flew to Edmonton for 19.00. I think the total for two people return was 150bucks or something sooooo cheap!

Off topic but anyways ENJOY!!!! Have fun counting down the hours. The anticipation has got to be one of the best feelings ever. Just knowing that at this time tomorrow you will be in gool ol' California!!!
