My early Christmas present...

I got a Digital Rebel XT!

Now, let me say that I was VERY apprehensive about getting such an expensive camera when my photography has SUCKED. But I honestly think my camera could have been better. I love my current Canon (Powershot A510) but it's only 3 mp so when I have been enlarging, the shot gets crappy. I want to be able to zoom and crop. Also, the shutter lag is yucky -- it's fine if you are taking pics of adults, but I knew something had to be done when I took a series of pics of my 3 year old, all with her eyes half-closed, half a second after I pressed the button.

Sooooo, I am cannot wait for it to get here. I tried to hold back and not buy all the other accessories (YET) but I'm sure I'm going to pick up another lens and some filters shortly anyway.

Congrats! I love cameras and you got a great one, mine is about the same thing but Nikon. And you'll see the difference.

I have the XT and love it! Still learning how to use all the different bells and whistles. But the pics have been great.....and virtually no lag time at all except for indoor action shots, and that is because try as I might I cannot get the setting right on that yet...but I will

I have been wanting this camera for quite some time now. Every time DH and I are in a store that sells them, I make sure to point it out to him, hoping he will get the hint.

i dont' have the xt, but i have the first one.....i was waiting and waiting for the price to drop and it never did, so i bit the bullet and bought it in january. well lo and behold, only a month after i buy the darned thing, the xt comes out and mine drops $200!!!

i love it...it takes awesome pics...but the only thing that i don't like about it is that it is sooooooo big!!! sometimes at the ball field or disney, or just to take around town that fits in your purse...

these are some of the pictures that i have taken with it at a marlin baseball camp for my kids...this is my new love of my life!!!

i have blown these babies up to 8 x 12 and am going to go bigger....i want to put them on a page with that being a huge shot, crossing over to the second page...

OK, I'm jealous! I was going to get an XT for Christmas... but my point and shoot has been broken since this summer and I need to get a new P and S before I get an SLR. So the XT is on hold for now But I'm looking forward to seeing the wonderful pictures you'll take with your new camera!!

You will LOVE this camera. I got it back in June as an early birthday gift and I am so pleased with it! I feel like I don't need to go to a professional photographer with this camera. It is awesome! I took this picture of my DD cropped it so it was from the waist up and had it printed to a 16 x 20 and it is incredible! Congrats on the new camera!!!

WOW!!!

Congratulations on the new camera!!! That is on my wish list, but I don't think Santa will bring it this year as I just got a new Kodak digital in March before we went on our cruise.

Let us know how it is. I love the pics the rest of you have taken with yours!

good for you! i am also so very jealous!!! how many pixles is it? i have been eyeballing the cannon 20d. i have been reading up on it. i loved my minolta 35mm so when i went digital with my kodak i missed my 35 mm. My kodak takes really nice pics, but has that lag time and i have missed so many. REALLY want that cannon.........

You will absolutely LOVE your XT!!! My husband got me mine for my birthday in April and it is fantastic! Personally I think the camera is well worth every penny that you spend on it.
