Hi Folks,

Going to the Poly in August and decided to upgrade to the DxDP. Was looking for some opinions on my choices, and suggestions if you feel I'm missing or should change anything (need one more ADR).

My family consists of DW and I, DD (9) DS (7 & 1).

8/14: Crystal Palace- Lunch and Cinderella's Royal Table

8/15: Chef Mickeys, Coral Reef, and Chefs de France

8/16: Yak and Yeti, Jiko

8/17: Brown Derby and Ohana

8/18: Ohana Breakfast and California Grill

8/19: (insert suggestion here) and spirit of aloha

Thanks in Advance

You should just take into consideration that it will take approximately:
10-20 minutes of wait time to check in at each restaurant, then 1 1/2 hours per meal to be served and eat, then 5-10 minutes to gather your family up and leave. That amount of hours times three times each day really adds up fast, so that is time spent away from rides and attractions...By your choices it looks like your "travel" time is okay, otherwise that too takes 45 minutes many times, running from location to location, just to eat.
While I think you made some wonderful choices, I would really "think" about the regular plan as that is a lot of time eating and a lot of food overall, especially with young kids. The basic plan (if you've never done it) gives a cs for lunch, and sit down (character) meal each night and a snack per person...we always do the dining plan (purchased or free) we OOP for breakfast...but learned thru experience that the deluxe is for real foodies or those that like to spend less time in the parks and more time eating. No judgement, just a time thing...
Whatever you choose, have a YUMMY fun trip! :wizard:

It looks like they only have one day of 3 meals.

I think your schedule looks great we did DxDp on our past trips and loved it. Being on vacation, for us, includes nice meals at restaurants not just rushing around the parks. We really enjoyed our meals at California Grill and I really enjoyed the Brown Derby.

You could try Kona cafe for breakfast on your last day, and since you are at Poly it won't take away from your valuable park time;)

Which park are you going to visit on the 19th?
Do you want another character breakfast?
you could eat at Akershus if going to EPCOT
Hollywood and Vine if going to DHS

a QS breakfast?

We are also doing the Deluxe and will probably be spending more time eating than in the parks - but I know my family needs a good breakfast and little rest throughout the day.

maybe move chef mickeys to last day so you dont have 3 ts in one day

Looks pretty good to me. For the last day, it's a little tough without knowing which park you plan to be at (or, if any at all), but Kona or 1900PF look like they'd fit right in for breakfast. If resort hopping or just relaxing, I'd also consider a Boma breakfast down at AKL.

If going to a park, either a normal breakfast (Akershus is a good recommendation for Epcot, or Cape May would also work if transportation won't be an issue) or a "lighter" lunch would work (Plaza @ MK for example). H&V @ DHS may work as well if your littliest ones are into Playhouse Disney (I hear they have Handy Manny there now along with Leo and... um... the girl from Little Einstiens).

Overall it looks very thought out with minimal travel time added.

We did the DxDDp in January and loved it :woohoo: I'd recommend the Norway Princess Breakfast or the breakfast at 1900 Park Fare we really enjoyed both. We did an early Breakfast ADR most days because we're morning people and liked to take the opportunity to be in the park before opening. For AK we loved Yak & Yeti for lunch but it was a TON of food but then again we had eaten at the Donald Safari breakfast buffet that morning (which was fantastic as well!) You have lots of great restaurants picked, many of the same ones we're choosing for on January 2011 trip :goodvibes

8/16: Yak and Yeti, Jiko Jiko service is very slow, it is a very long meal. It may be a lot for a 1 year old. We didn't really care for the food at Jiko, but we know we are in the minority. We loved Sanaa, though (also at AK)

8/17: Brown Derby and Ohana

8/18: Ohana Breakfast and California Grill

8/19: (insert suggestion here) and spirit of aloha SOA is a little boring for the kids, you might consider Hoop De Doo Review. My kids LOVE it (12,9,9,2) your daughter would love the princess breakfast at Aukerhaus (sp) or 1900 Park Faire

Thanks in Advance

We love the Dx plan. We do it every year. My kids have good appeatites and we enjoy trying new and different things. The chance to sit down somewhere nice and quiet is nice, too. We are no commando tourers, so we don't mind the extra down time.

I do agree with badblackpug (BTW I have a bad black pug too) Jiko can be very slow. The night we ate there we were there around 2 hours it was definitely one of our longest meals.
