My DVC purchase experience

I am a new member of this forum but I would like to share my experiences and time frames regarding my recent purchase of DVC points.

Jan 4. Called The Timeshare Store and talked to Jerry to make verbal offer
Jan 5 Contract was e-mailed to me to sign. I signed and returned
Jan 9 Was notified that the offer was sent to Disney for ROFR
Jan 11 Nancy from Magic Vacation Title sent us Escrow documents to sign
Feb 8 Notified that Disney had passes on ROFR
Feb 10 Nancy from Magic Vacation Title sent us Closing Documents to sign
Feb 15 Jerry notified us from The Timeshare Store our Closing was Completed
Feb 20 We were listed as owners but points had not been posted
Feb 27 Points were posted and we completed several vacation plans

Hope this may help some with time frame questions. Great service provided from Jerry at the Time Share Store and Nancy from Magic Vacation Title. A big thank you to the sellers for their timely responses to the sale of their points

We had pretty much the exact same experience one year ago dealing with both Jerry from the Timeshare Store and Nancy from Magic Vacation Title. It was a smooth and virtually stress free experience, despite the fact it was happening during the time that everyone was buying in order to be grandfathered under the old rules. The only stress was the 30 day wait for Disney to pass ROFR.

Ditto from me for both Jerry and Nancy. Purchasing from overseas made me particularly nervous (when I wire money overseas I always feel as though it's going into a big black hole!) but they made the process incredibly smooth. I'd highly recommend them to anyone.

Mine is similar. I used DVCbyresale.

Jan 3 - Made an offer
Jan 10 - contract submitted to Disney for ROFR
Feb 8 - passed ROFR
Feb 21 - closing was completed
Feb 27 - Registered in the system.

My points are not showing yet, and they said it would be another couple of days.

We also had a similar timeline:

12/30: Offer accepted by buyer
1/2: Contract received from Fidelity. Sent back the same day via fax.
1/2: Offer went to ROFR
1/31: Heard that we passed ROFR
2/7: Estoppels received from Disney
2/9: Contract received from First American Title. Sent back next day air via Fedex.
2/10: &*%$#& Fedex airplane broke down with my contract on it.
2/13: Contract received by title company
2/15: Contract closed
2/20: Points in Disney system. Booked first DVC stay!
