My DVA won't accept Disney gift cards

Is anyone else having issues using Disney gift cards to make payments into your Disney Vacation Account? I tried setting one up with a one time contribution for $50 (amount of my Disney gc) and when I get to the payment screen and select the card type from the drop down menu it doesn't give me Disney gift card as an option, only the major credit card brands. I called their help line and since it was after hours it was some guy who didn't have an answer and told me to call back tomorrow. Just trying to see if I can figure it out on my own. Thanks!

I know when we initially set up the account it had to be funded with a credit card so we added $10 or something. Then after that we were able to add the Disney gift cards.

Thanks for the heads up! I went in and did the $10 deposit using my credit card and then was able to go back in and add the Disney gift card. Easy peasy!

You can schedule the initial deposit for the future that get the accord not set up, then deposit a gift card, and then cancel the future deposit.

It's an odd glitch. Have to do the credit card thing first, though I like the previous poster's suggestion of setting up an initial deposit for a future date with the credit card. Wouldn't have thought to do that.

That is a great suggestion! We will certainly try that once we get to opening up DVA account number three ;-)
