My DS's Rose Bowl Float Experience

Last year my son wrote an essay about what his Kidney Transplant means to him and submitted it in a contest: Astellas Ride of A Lifetime. 5 winning essays were chosen from 5 different parts of the country. Josh was the youngest to ever win and he got to ride on the Donate Life float in the Rose Bowl Parade!!

So cool! We are neighbors! I live in Edwardsville! The Rose parade is near and dear to my heart as my mom lived in California and I went to see it in person a couple of times. It is more beautiful every year!

Howdy Neighbor!!!!! I love it when I find folks on here from our area who actually know where Granite City is!!

The float experience was SO AWESOME!! Josh and I actually go to help put the flowers on and see it go from part way done to the full on, huge beautiful float it was!!! He got to ride; I got to sit in the stands and cheer him on. We had NEVER been to California before. What an AWESOME state!! It was truly a once in a lifetime experience!!!
