My DS let me down today

I am a local who holds AP's to both Disney and UO. Today while driving my DS 9 told me that Disney is boring and that he would rather just go to UO. His reasoning is the typical that you here for kids his age and older of UO having more roller coasters. I love coasters too but I am a larger Disney fan. More to come on this situation

Our boys never much cared for Disney after the 2nd or 3rd trip. They favored a different type of vacation/family trip. WDW became a nice long weekend every now & then for my husband and I. Never lost sleep over the face that the kids didn't care for it. Everyone has different tastes!

Oh I agree that everyone has different tastes. I think he is outgrowing Disney and I just know he will complain about going to Disney from now on

I think the title is confusing. In reality he didn't let you down, he bummed you out. There's a big difference.

My DS felt the same way at that age so we compromised and did both on many years of trips. Honestly, the Superhero characters were a big draw for him, he loved Spiderman which is so big right now. It's not that there are just coasters, it's how the coasters are all more current big kid themes and interactive, I totally understood why DS felt this way.

One of my close friends feels the same. In her situation she had only gone to Disney World once as an adult and thought a lot of the rides were outdated and boring. Meanwhile she has a Universal annual pass and LOVES those parks way more than Disney. I can definitely see her perspective as she doesn't have any ounce of nostalgia for Disney but it's still sad to hear as someone that does

Exactly! Imagine not liking a theme park being considered as letting someone down.

Why not alternate years OP? Do Universal one year and Disney the next. It’s not like either one is going anywhere..

I am the opposite...DD doesn't want anything but Disney and the Grand Floridian. She is costing me $$$

I had to talk DS into Universal at first. Now we are the same page.
