Hey everyone,
I'm so shaken up right now. My standard poodle, Phoebe, was bugging me so I knew it was time for her to do her business. My mom was on the phone so I took her out the side door like I always do. I got to the top of my driveway when I see the german shepherds (2 of them) and then they saw me and phoebe so I ran to get us both inside and they got us before we could get in. I opened the door and all 3 dogs were coming in and I was trying to pull them out while getting phoebe in and thats when one got my finger and my dog. They got her in like 2 other spots too. So anyway I scream bloody murder for my mom and she comes out and helps me and finally the owner gets the dogs away from us. A couple minutes later there is a knock on the door - it's the woman holding her crying daughter who has blood on her face and she says - "I just wanted you to see my daughter's face before i take her to the hospital." What the heck is she talking about? It's not my fault - apparently she flew out of the stroller at some point during this whole debacle and hit her head. And for the record, these dogs are not hers and they're not socialized. She's housesitting and they never ever ever go out for walks - they just go in the backyard. She was an idiot for even attempting to take all 3 of them outside. So anyway, I called my vet who said to try and clean her wounds and to call in the am for an appt. My finger hurts like a ton and it's really swollen, but it didn't break the skin. So because of the comment the woman made, we called the police (of whom my mom works for) and filed a report just in case she turns this thing around on us. I'm still so wound up. I know this sounds dumb, but I turned into another person. I was ready to let this dog eat my hand before it got my baby. I don't want to compare this to parents and their children but I definitely got a little more insight into what parents mean when they say they will do anything to protect their children. I will keep you updated after we see my vet tomorrow. Send poodle pixie dust please!
