My dog is missing

Good news! I read your thread last night and was eager for an update. So happy for you!

Thank goodness! :goodvibes

The man surrendering his dog:

Ugh. I'm certainly not advocating family pets attacking other pets. But, they're animals. And a small scuffle could turn into a mess, when one dog weighs 80 pounds more than the other one.

I don't know that I'd give up my pet, in this case.

Sad, in any event. :guilty:

OP, I'm really happy to hear that your GS has returned safely! :cool1:

I have to respectfully disagree. I'm one of the biggest animal lovers in the world, but if one attacked and killed another pet, I would no longer consider them to be safe. It would break my heart to do it, but I would do it nonetheless. I do understand the point you're making though about things quickly getting out of control sometimes. I agree, very sad no matter what... :sad1:

I have to agree with this, if our "big" (45 lbs) dog killed our little (9lbs) dog I would not be able to keep the big one. Of course in our house the little one is the alpha so I highly doubt that would ever happen. :)

OP I am so glad you found your dog!!!! :) We have a GS mix and he's the best dog ever! :)

I'm glad your dog is safe and sound. I hope that nothing like this ever happens to you again.

Thanks to everyone. I picked him up this morning. The spca read his chip and called me as I was on the way there. I cried when i saw him, it was a very rough night.

there was a man there surrendering his GS mix that had killed his 2 yorkies and he was so upset and so the place had a couple people sobbing in there. my boy is sleeping after having a long pee session and eating like there was no tomorrow. we are having the invisible fence thing put in.

what is wierd is that he was in a cage, well long tall cage and it had a cover in front, so not sure if that was to quiet him down or what. but not a many cages had that in front.

i am going to go take a nap, not much sleep last night.

I am so happy for you! Just want to let you know there is a device called Zoomback (sp) for pets that you can attach to their collar and find them on GPS. Might be a good idea is he is going to be a "repeat offender".
