I am so sorry for your loss. I know what you are going through. We just had to have our dog put to sleep on Saturday. Within this past week my husband had a mild heart attack and I had 2 minor car accidents.

My husband is going to be fine, the 2 accidents are just damage to vehicles, but losing my dog, Mindy, who was 15 is really hard to take. We miss her so much but know she is in a better place and not suffering.

So sorry to hear of your loss Kyle I'm giving my buddy Midnight an extra hug tonight. Our pup is nine years old and is starting to show signs of slowing down. We got him when my DD was 4, he sleeps by her bedroom door everynight. I can't imagine what our house would be like without him here. We moved into our house in May 1994 and got Midnight at the age of six weeks in September 1994. Keep the fond memories of Buddy fresh in your heart.

We had our first dog put down in November 1990, I'm so glad we have photos of him. He was a 95 pound german shepherd, and I still miss him.

Here is a photo of Midnight, he is so peaceful and loving, my DD put her cup on his head, and he did not move for more than 30 minutes, just laying there with this cup on his head. He is indeed a member of our family, as Buddy was a member of your family.

Kyle, I'm so sorry for your loss. I know how hard it is to lose such a beloved dog from past experience and still can't imagine how I would handle if something were to happen to my furbaby. Tell all the Little Buddy stories you want, I still miss a couple of the dogs we had when I was a kid and talking about them always makes me smile and helps me feel better. Again, I'm so sory for your loss.

I'm Little Buddy's grandmother....we came home from a weekend trip and didn't have him to meet us at the door crying-the first time in 13 years ! It was hard ! Since he wasn't there, I cried. But, as Kyle said, it's easier when you put in all in perspective. Having 18 & 22 year old sons, knowing that they could be in Iraq makes this easy to bear. My boys were 6 & 10 when we got Little Buddy! He slept with us after Kyle left for college....the only "family" pet we ever had, and my husband says there will be more. We'll see !
