I'm kind of freaking out right now. I had a doctors appointment this morning and she found a lump in my breast. She reffered me to a breast surgeon because she couldn't tell if it were serious or not, so now I have to wait until wednesday to find out. I feel like I'm going out of my mind with worry. I can't reach my husband and I don't want to worry my mom or my friends. I've never asked for prayers or pixie dust before but if you have any to spare, I sure could use them now.

Sending you lots of prayers and hugs. Don't get too worried yet. I have gone through this numerous times and it turns out I get lots of cysts.

I hope Wednesday goes well.

I had a lump a few years ago. It turned out to a cyst which is quite common. The waiting is the worst, isn't it? Prayers for peace, comfort and a good result.

:grouphug: There are many different things it could be. Try your hardest to not worry about it until you find out what it is. I know that many times I have had health scares that if I had stopped looking on the internet and just waited for the results I would have saved myself a lot of stress, sleepless nights and worry. That is easier to say than do however. I hope everything turns out just fine for you. :grouphug:

I'm so sorry you're going to have to wait so long to find out about the lump. In most cases I'm sure these things are typically nothing, but I know you're understandably worried nonetheless. My prayers are with you. Also, I'm sure your mom and friends would want to support you right now, so don't worry about upsetting them.

I completely understand. I had to have a lump removed several years ago but it turned out to be just a hard cyst. Since then, I have had to have extra mamograms and ultrasounds because they think they have found something. So far everything has checked out ok but I do understand what you are going through.

Hopefully, Yours will turn out ok to!!

My family has a history or breast cancer. I understand you are freaked out. I will tell you this, if you happen to have breast cancer (and I hope you don't), there has been major increase in the procedures that has to be done. Most women don't lose their breasts any more. You would probably have to go through chemo (sp) though, which is not a pleasant experience. I have heard, though, there is this woman at UCLA (I think), who is doing extensive research to find a complete cure for breast cancer. She's not far off.

I know what it's like to have something glooming over you. I suffer from migraines, so I had to have tests run on me to see if I had a brain tumor. Then in the past few years I've developed abdominal pain which could have been caused by stomach cancer, liver cancer, or problems with my liver, gallbladder, stomach, etc. I went for a CAT scan once, and they found something in my liver. I had to go back and have a sonogram to get a more detailed picture. I was so scared. It turned out to be a blood clot, which is nothing to worry about (unless it bursts, then I bleed to death).

I would love to tell you to do stuff to keep your mind occupied, but I know how hard that is. Perhaps you can do research on it and find out about treatments and stuff. And do other research on other types of lumps that can be found in the breast. Then when you see your doctor you will have a knowledge base.

You will be in my thoughts. :grouphug:

It doesn't help to worry. Cysts are so common.

And as a Mother I would be very upset if my child didn't come to me about something like this. As a daughter I understand not telling, I've done if myself. My Mom would always be mad at me if I didn't come to her. Tell her and your friends.

Prayers and good thoughts for you Princess

I know your TERROR!!

Nothing I can say will relax you, but I have had many solid masses in my breast--two in the last year. They have all been benign. Just remember, 80% of all lumps are benign. Hold on to that statistic!

 I know hard it is to wait. I agree with the other posters...tell your mom...it will help.

The waiting is absolutely the hardest!! It's probably a cyst. Saying lots of prayers for you and sending you a big  to help with the waiting.

 I agree with the others, tell your mom. I know Wednesday seems so far away, but hang in there.

Try not to worry, it's probably nothing, but the doctor just wants to be sure. Here's some extra prayers to tide you over. :grouphug:

I've had the same cyst for 15 years (since I was 14) and once I had one in my back that was the size of a lemon. They were both nothing.

:grouphug: Prayers for you hon.

Please don't get yourself upset until you have more facts. This also happened to me and pretty much every woman I have known at one time or another. It has always turned out to be nothing.....stay positive, I know it's scary. Listen to what everyone here is saying to you :)

Okay, I'm starting to feel better. I had no idea that cysts were so common. No one in my family has had breast cancer so I was really stunned. I'm still worried but at least I know now that it might be nothing.

You all are amazing. Thank you :grouphug:
