I originally made reservations for All-Stars Movie(2 rooms) about mid-January. I was to pay the $400.00 deposit by Feb 1st. We are going September 7-16.

I then read the first official posts coming out about discounts when no one was saying that much about it being an error. I immediately called back and asked if there was any discounts associated with my family. I was put on hold and when she came back I was eligible for a discount BUT that I would need to move over to either Pop Century or All-Star Music.

My new pay deposit date was by Feb. 8th. (I now know that I need to print out a copy of the confirmation on the disney website although I don't even know if that would matter.)

because when I went online to pay my reservation on the 2nd. MY RESERVATION WAS CANCELLED!!! Well of course I thought it was all this code business starting to catch up with everyone. UGH!!!

So I re-called Disney to set up a new reservation and to ask why my reservation had been cancelled. She looked it up on the screen and said that it was because I did not pay my deposit by the 1st. I told her that I had applied changes to the original reservation and that it had pushed my deposit due date up a week. She knew nothing about that... BUT she said that it was no problem because she would just do a new reservation for me. I told here well there sorta was a problem because...

(basically I repeated everything from the top) and that I had called in to see if I had a discount that would apply and was told yes ALTHOUGH I did not recieve a postcard nor an email that I was aware of. Only for her to instantly tell me that I did have a CODE associated with my name. When she redid the reservation all the originally numbers confirmed that I did get the discount again.

So basically I got the discount twice on two seperate occasions. I was told by both CMs that I did have a code. I reminded the second CM that I did not recieve any postcards or email what do I do at check-in? She said that it would not be a problem for me because it was in the computer and there would be no need for them to ask it.

From all this I learned if you make changes to a reservation to make sure that you call and double check on the deposit due date by because the CM and the computer both put my new date by the 8th BUT IT WAS CANCELLED ON THE ORIGINAL DUE DATE. There is basically nothing you can do but make a new reservation.

I would have thought your first res would be cancelled when you re-booked. And the re-booking should have created a second (new) res. :confused3
Yes, the first res would have cancelled even if the CM did not cancel it, due to no deposit.
Seems to have all worked out in the end, luckily. Lesson learned.
Were these both Room only res' or packages?

package reservations. The reservation confirmation number stayed the same the only thing that changed was the amount due and the deposit due by date. But it cancelled the day after the first deposit was due. due to non-payment of deposit. (she said) Don't know why.

Last year when I was booking my vacation, I had to call back and redo dates. My first reservations was cancelled, I received a new confirmation # and a new pay by date. Wonder why they a new confirmation didn't come up when you rebooked...:confused3

Of course I don't know what did or should happen for certain -- but my thought is you booked one package, and switched to another. I think what should have happened was the first res cancelled, and then re-booked, esp since your package was different.

I believe any time you change your arrival date on a reservation, it creates a new one, but if you change your departure date only, it doesn't. At least that's been my experience.

I would have thought that since it was an alteration to the reservation rather than booking a new reservation that the deposit date would stay the same. Had they given you a new confirmation number it would make sense for it to change. I think the cm was mistaken in the first place when she told you that the deposit date was different...although you would think she would have read that off the computer.

I would have chalked it up to the CM making a mistake also. All 3 times of booking they have each told me that the deposit would be $200.00 BUT it is $400.00 because of the 2 rooms. The only thing stating $400.00 is when I go on disney's website and pull my information up. Which also stated that my deposit was extended by a week. I would have thought if the computer has it on the confirmation reciept that it would have been right. I was wrong. They cancelled it for non-payment. I am lucky that I am at a resort that is not filling up too fast. :scared:
