Hey Everyone....
It has now come and gone.... and now I wait. I flew out to Calgary this past Tuesday and the interview was on Wednesday. Had to be up bright and early... wasn't so bright though at 6:30am.
Presentation started at 9am and lasted about an hour and a half. All the images of Disney get me every time. I was lucky, my interview was scheduled for 11:15, so I didn't have to wait very long, but some of the people that I had met through another web board had their interviews later in the day, so I just stuck around to wait.
I think the interview went pretty well. There are some things that I would've changed, but I was pleased. We talked about working at the Disney Store, why I wanted to work at WDW, what I was going to do while in Calgary, what I would tell someone to do in Toronto. I stressed hockey quite a bit because, a)I work at the Hall of Fame, so I'm a little biased and b) I'm just a big fan. I'm not sure she was such a big fan, but I did say that hockey was part of the Canadian culture, so I hope that helped.
Anyways, I'm home from Calgary now and I met some great people while I was out there and it would be great if we all got in to the program. We were told we had to wait a couple of weeks to hear whether we got in and it's going to be the longest wait, I know it. One good thing we found out is that there are 48 positions that were being offered between Calgary and Vancouver. There were about 35 people in Calgary and 40 in Vancouver, so the odds of a job are pretty good.
I don't normally ask for this.... but please.... send me lots of pixie dust!!!!!
On a side note, I flew WestJet. I would just like to tell anyone who is worried about flying with them because they are a discount airline, don't be worried. It was the first time I flew with them and I was so impressed with everything. They have great people working for them and I will not hesitate to fly with them again. I'd take them over Air Canada anyday.
