Morning all from Gloomy cold Australia!!

I'm coming to your lovely country in October for what will be me and my bestie's trip of a lifetime!!

We're spending 3 weeks on the west coast and about 12 days of which will be spent at theme parks, Disneyland, California Adventure, Universal, Knotts Berry and Six Flags too!!!!

I'll be in Anaheim from the 8th until the 14th of October for Disneyland, California Adventure & Knotts Berry :)

...im gunna pee my pants im so excited i swear!!!

I'm also a newbie here obviously from Australia and am so so happy i found this board!! I'm overloaded with info right now so im spending most of my spare time compiling lists of interesting and cool stuff i find on here!

Anyone have some specific advice for two Aussie girls heading over that have never been to anything Disney nor America in their life?!! ahaha thanks in advance!!

xx.

With all that theme park time, my best advice would be dont be afraid to take a break.

But...
While at the DLR in October, are you guys planning to do Mickeys Trick or Treat party??

Then sit and watch the tiki room to closing time! If my dh seen a picture of the turkey leg then he would be right with me. Yummy

June 1 2008:The fast-moving, early morning blaze destroyed several movie sets and the King Kong exhibit. The fire destroyed an area called New York street, which includes movie set-style buildings designed to look like the cityscape of New York City. Another area called "Courthouse Square" also was destroyed. Numerous movies have been shot in that area, including several scenes of the 1985 hit "Back to the Future"....

Arghh yum!!!! I'm not a big meat eater but that looks too good!

Yeah we are of course still going to Universal...there isn't much to really factor in with the fire, i mean they're still going to be open of course but obviously there are some aspects that we will miss out on...no fire is keeping us away from Univ. Studios!! :cool1:

Hi all!

My last trip to Disneyland was probably 7 years ago as a single gal with my sister. Now, I am married and have 2 kids (20mos. and 3yrs.), and will be going to Disneyland next year, and California Adventure for the first time. SO EXCITED!!!

How many days do people typically go to do both parks these days?? There's so much more there than when I last visited, that I have NO IDEA!!! When we go to WDW we stay 10 days, if that's relevant...

Any advice would be appreciated! :goodvibes:goodvibes

welcome to the dis, where id say the most welcoming and helpful ppl spend all there days
if your going to be there id sugest the halloween party we will be the 10th thats the time that looks like you would be to. have fun..and ohh some ppl here make us very hungry they always have such good pics.

wonder when some one will come up with print and eat pics of food??

-Maybe do a tour of Disneyland...like the Walking in Walt's footsteps tour?

-Eat at the restaurant at Knott's..the chicken place...and a must is the boysenberry pie. Grab a jar of the boysenberry preserves so you have on on your bread when you want a break from vegemite! :rotfl:

-A neat day trip is to take a boat out to Catalina island. Or perhaps go whale watching. Out in Long Beach, check out the Queen Mary or the Aquarium of the Pacific.

-Another little mini trip is to go drive up Pac. Coast Highway through Malibu...onto Ventura and up to Santa Barbara. If spending the night up there, go check out Solvang and do a wine tour.

-Check out Santa Monica and the pier/3rd Street Promenade area

-If you go to Rodeo Dr. in Bev Hills, check out the Museum of Tv and Radio. Pretty cool stuff.

-Want to take a bizarre tour of LA in an hearse? Check out Grave Line Tours.

Walk in Walt's Footsteps is an amazing tour, especially for a Disneyland newbie. I found the tour interesting and I've lost count as to how many times I've been to Disneyland.

My one solid pieace of Advise is spend a day just taking the park, and enjoying the feeling of simply Being at Disneyland.

and if your into seeing the Characters makes sure to get in a couple of Character meals its the east and most of the time the food is good.
