Could someone please tell me more about this doll?? Is this similar to an American Girl doll..the pictures I have found are very vague and look like it may be a cheaper material made doll and I wasn't sure if this was the case?? DD loves dolls so I am wondering if this would be a good one for her!!

It is about the same size =, but it is definitely cheaper made -- especially the hair! My girls really enjoyed theirs (they got them when they were a little younger and before they got American Girl dolls) but the hair was a disaster after a bunch of playing.

It's up to you - you can go for it and your daughter will enjoy it -- but expect the hair to not hold up.

HTH!

We have a similar doll to the Americal Girl dolls here in Canada called the Maplelea Doll. We gave one to DD about three years ago. Last year in Disney she HAD to have a Disney Doll so we went ahead and got it for her. The one she chose is very similar in looks to her Maplelea.

She LOVES her Disney Doll but it is definitly not on par with the quality of the Maplelea Doll. Much thinner hair - you can see the scalp through the hair and the rows of hair plugs are clearly visible. Fortunately she often keeps it in a ponytail so it's not as ratty as it could be.

The funny thing about why she says she loves her Disney Doll so much is because she is tanned.

They are not the same quality as the American Girl dolls. Some of the princess dresses will fit the AG dolls a little tightly.

If you want a doll, Target sells a doll very much like the Disney doll for about 20 dollars. The hair is rooted vs the wig on an AG doll.

Thanks to all..that definitely helps ALOT!! I think we will head to Walmart or Target and get a Little Mommy doll (superior quality for a 2yr old) and then she can get her a few outfits from Disney!
