Hello fellow DVCers.....after 13 years of ownership.....I know am a parent of an 18 year old going on her senior trip and it occurred to me I might want her to have her own MDE account so she can load her ticket and book ride que experiences. Epcot is the first park the first day they arrive so I KNOW shes going to want to try to get in the que that opens up in the middle of the day (I'm guessing they still do the que for guardians right now. Haven't been as we've stockpiled the points for Aulani this summer). Anyway, Both my kids accounts I have managed as they were 5 and 2 when we bought DVC and then the MDE rollout started not terribly long after that.

So the question is, can we create an adult account for her and transfer the account I manage for her under my own account....so that all her information and tickets we have (a few days of non expiration tickets) can be on her account? She was hoping to take her magic band with her. Just curious if anyone else has had a child grow up and need their own account.

Edit....Nevermind...I figured it out. Click on settings on the child's account you manage...and then you can click share plans with (child's name) it will send them an invite to create their own account. It will link all the info you have on their for them and they stay in your friend's and family list

Thank you for this - they’ve certainly made it easier when the kids grow up! I just checked my DGD’s profile in my MDE and found I could do the same even though she’s only 15 - I wasn’t sure how old they needed to be to have their own MDE account.

I did this with my girls a few years back. The only caveat was that while it worked on the app, it wouldn't work in a browser! It was some crazy glitch that if the user's DOB didn't make them > 15 or 16, the browser version wouldn't let them log in! It has since been fixed (I think!) but it was wild. My oldest was the de facto Disney adult when they were in WDW her senior year of HS. Having their own MDE accounts gives them some freedom and responsibility.

The only catch now is I can't get her Ticket from the school to load onto her account. I know Disney IT is notoriously bad and sometimes it takes 24 hours for things to show up. We'll try again tomorrow. Hopefully the school can help her out at the big meeting tomorrow lol.

Make sure when her school ticket is loaded that it is prioritized so her no expiry days are not used unintentionally.

Yeah I had a long talk with her that BEFORE she enters the park to make sure she has a cast member help her because we've had this issue twice in the past. It's annoying spending time at guest services to re-issue a 1 day ticket because we are unable to prioritize our own passes. All is good and she's on day 2 and already exhausted. We haven't been park commandos since she was about 6 and was still getting pushed in a stroller lol.

None of the kids were able to load their tickets based off the ticket number, they all had to scan and use the QR code which I thought was strange.
