My Disney Experience - FIX IT!!!!!!

Everything is gone from MDE. I was in the middle of making FPP selections, tried to edit and all of a sudden nothing. NOTHING! All my reservations are completely gone. There is a 30 min wait when I tried to call Disney and I can't wait. Is there an issue? Will my plans be recovered?

Just try another browser.:teacher:

It's OK, it's all part of the test phase. Enjoy.

Why? It's not like guests now need to depend on the website to make any changes to FP, look up their dining times, link their magic bands.......Oh, Wait a minute.....

It just sounds more like 2 college kids in the basement playing around with their first VisualBasic app rather than one of the top Global Company's most customer facing applications that's been in production for many months now.....

But I'd go ahead and try another browser or get that dedicated T1 hooked up....;)

go.in and.click modify fp and then.hit change and any real fps.will.show on.that screen. Without.seeing what you are seeing that is the best.advice I can offer. Sorry, you are having such.troubles.

Thank you so much. I will forward this info to my friend.

I spent probably 3 or 4 hours trying to slog my way through MDE before our trip. I encountered the most bizarre problems I could have imagined...from no option to choose my children's ages to phantom fast passes showing up all the way through one day's worth of fast passes DISAPPEARING from my account.

And, God help me, I was foolish enough to try to get FPs to Be Our Guest for lunch. This was the single most frustrating thing I have ever tried to do in my dozen or so trips to the World. Two phone calls to customer service and I still couldn't get an answer about why my confirmation number GIVEN TO ME BY DISNEY WORLD was not working. I finally found the answer on a message board. Apparently, there is a hidden confirmation number JUST for the magic bands that is different than the number you get for your package and you have to use that number to link your lunch FP to your account.

Pardon me, but WHAT THE H#%?? Why in name of all that's good and right in the world would they make a system so difficult and counter-intuitive?

This roll-out was both foolish and clumsy. I'm all for better technology....but as of right now, there is nothing "better" about this, because the bad seems to HEAVILY outweigh the good.

Because I don't want to get there and have to waste time on my vacation with MB's that don't have any tickets (or the wrong tickets) attached to them. I get it, that living 15 minutes from WDW, this wouldn't be a concern for you, but this is my 1 vacation of the year I get with my family, and I don't want to waste any of it dealing with this crap.

The MBs just have a number in them that points to your info in the system. You can have multiple MBs that point to your info and they'll all work, so just leave them in the system.

Weird issues are out there. It's a massive system, look at the video games lately that can't even host a simple match without issues. Technology is only getting more complicated. Hopefully they realize the issues high up and working to actually fix it.

It's not a video game. It's people time (which means that it's people's MONEY). It's unacceptable.

The only reason Disney gets away with this is that it knows darn well that many of us promise our kids that we'll go to Disney once. I'm not disappointing my kids by canceling this trip. But you better believe that after only 1 month of research I've learned that ADRs, FP+s, overcrowding and tech issues are not a vacation for DH and me. If this was an adult only vacation, I'd cancel this minute and get my room deposit back. But that's not an option so I continue to plan and simply pray that the website, phones and/or MDE work on day 180, day 60 and while we are there.

And exactly how does one find this "hidden" number???????????

It feels very much like their IT didn't really define their use cases very well at all.

Normally, they should have identified as many of these scenarios as they could and tested them out while developing the system to ensure the user experience was of a particular quality. It sounds like they went for the basics and forgot to test the other ways users interact with the system.

Sounds like they need a better requirements analyst, or they need to start listening to the one they've got.

The little I can use from the app works fine.....I like it a lot. So so sorry for all the problems other folks on here are having though. Hoping Disney will fix this asap.

No need to do all that. They have thousands and thousands of people willing to spend thousands of dollars apiece, to be willing to do their testing for them.

Sounds like it was offshored to a group who were just given a loose set of requirements and some screen mockups from marketing. QA wasn't even in the equation. Let the guests test it. I did notice around December they started looking for a Performance tester, good move. A year late, but better late than never I guess.

Lol true. They are taking the Microsoft approach..

The system worked well for DW and I in December between the 25th and Jan 1st, but we were easily 'base case' like we didn't throw a lot of curve balls or anything.

When I got my APs through the ticketing office in the last month, the original way they processed it wouldn't allow me to link them to MDE, so I had to call back, they had to reprocess them as a different type of AP, and then it worked. Then I wasn't seeing AP offered through the site for awhile, and then out of the blue they started showing up.

It's just odd, and I hope the system will be great when 'finished' but for now, it's not good for many people.

You are probably not trying to book anything right now. It's fine if you just want to look .... but as soon as you want to do anything it all falls apart

Yes, many don't realize Disney IT doesn't build anything of this scale. They do however, help in the requirements gathering. Then, unfortunately, have to support what others have built. Not fun....

Seriously....it really doesn't too be a much more perfect scenario for Disney.

People are willing to fork over remarkable amounts of money (same as or more than before), to knowingly take part in 'testing' a buggy (at best) system.

They really couldn't ask for a better scenario than that. And to be able to simply tell these people who do experience problems (albeit, while paying thousands of dollars and dedicating time to travel)...."Sorry....it's all still in 'testing.'"

You truly can't make this stuff up.

EDIT: And I have been a long-time WDW visitor. Still don't cognitively understand the idea of WDW "magic." It's a fun vacation, where we can spend time as a family, and forget about outside concerns.....maybe that is the "magic?"

But this mess they have going on right now is NOT "magical." Maybe isolated incidents and CM's have given people's vacation some "magic." But the overall train wreck going on right now is not ripe with "magic."
