My DW, God love her finally got the hint and got me DIRECT TV for Valentines day.

Well I was experimenting with the remote the other night. (The guy told me to mess areound with it and see what it would do). So I thought I would "block" the nasty channels so Seth wouldn't see them. Well I hit the "ok" button instead of another button and got the show of my life:earseek:

How in the world can people do that in front of a camera?

Anywat it's blocked now.:D

we have one pkg and we have enough channels and thank goodness we dont' have to worry about what we turn on......well except The Man Show and Howard Stern.....and those are on late so we can see it......

I mean so we can turn the tv off and go to bed.....:p

We have Total Choice package. We can still purchase the "other" channels. I called Direct TV and told them what I did. They said to bad and wouldn't refund my money. So I paid $10.99 for a porno I didn't watch!

They said that they don't refund money for those type of movies becasue there is no way for them to know that I didn't watch it. I told them that DW wasn't even home so why would I watch that type of movie by myself:rolleyes:

The lady just laughed at me and apologized. I think she thinks I watched it.

That sucks!

OMG..did you really say that to them?

Set your purchase limit to $0 so you have to confirm with an override code -- it will help you avoid accidental purchases.

Not that ANYBODY in our house would ever watch one of those stations! ;)

You can also set the rating limits, like the spending limits, Tony. You can exclude those types from viewing without a password protected override.

I don't think any remote control should have that much power:D

Bumbles... Yes I did say that.

Oh -- did I forget the ...or so I've heard...? ;)

Seriously, I'm actually surprised that DirectTV is that easy to order any PPV. I know on our cable system, you have to punch in a 5-digit code to order anything off of PPV (a code I always seem to forget, since we order a movie about every 6 months or so! )

Thanks, mhopset -- that's something to keep in mind when we get out DirectTV. :)

It's much more cost effective to subscribe to a channel rather than buy one movie......or so I've heard

Now I know why men have such a fit about having control of the remote control.:p

LOL! Too funny.

Hmm....I must have a different DirecTV receiver. On mine, you have to press "Buy" to order a PPV movie, then a little window comes up showing the title and the price and a message asking if I want to buy it. I then have to press "Buy" again. Thank goodness, or I guess we might have some mistakes also!

ROTFLMAO Here. I know nobody on the DIS would actually WATCH that kind of stuff...

Maybe there's a code to force both spouses to be home before certain shows can be watched?

The RCA boxes are like that - waaaaay too easy to order ppv - the first thing I did is what was suggested earlier in the thread - turn the spending limit to ZERO. Then it will stop and ask.

Then go thru and block all those channels from the channel lineup. I have all the ppv, packages we dont have and ad channels turned off. It makes it all easier to navigate, if anything.

And no I've never looked at any of those kind of movies.

Tony,, Tony,,, Tony.........:o :o :o

You are the SILLIEST GOOSE!!!!!!

but I am sure Becky still loves ya!
