Hello! This past week I tried a few new restaurants in the world that I have never been to before and figured I would post what I thought.

Hoop Dee Doo Review - Loved it! This was our Thanksgiving night meal and even my DH enjoyed himself. He loved the ribs while I favored the chicken. I wasn't a big fan of the beans as I prefer them to be sweeter, but everything else was delicious, especially the strawberry shortcake! The show was a lot of fun, too!

Be Our Guest - We had lunch here in 2015, but did dinner and breakfast this trip. I wasn't expecting much food wise and booked dinner more for the experience and breakfast as something fun for our last day. Dinner was good, but the portions were super tiny. I never finish all of my food and I finished all of my pasta and dessert. I thought the pasta was delicious though, as was the grey stuff cookie dessert. For breakfast, I tried the Croque Madame. I'm not usually a sandwich type person, but this was delicious!!! I would recommend it.

Tusker House - I snagged a late breakfast reservation here in hopes of taking advantage of both the breakfast and lunch buffet. This was my first time ever having Jungle Juice and both DH and I loved it. The food on the buffet was good, but nothing really special. I am not a fan of new foods, so I didn't try any of the african style foods. The character interactions were also nothing special. I probably wouldn't do this meal again.

Crystal Palace - We had dinner here in 2015 but DH was sick and couldn't eat much, so this is the only meal he requested we do again so he could try it again. This time we went for lunch but it was the same foods. Personally I LOVED the salmon, but everything else was just ok. The characters were fun but they were very quick to move on to the next table. I probably would have liked the meal more if we didn't have the spawn of satan sitting at the table next to us...

Whispering Canyon Cafe - I had heard so many good things about this place and wanted so badly to love it, but it was probably my least favorite meal of the trip. We both had the skillet and thought it was nothing special. My bottomless milkshake was good, though!

Ohana - We tried both breakfast and dinner here. Breakfast was a lot of fun for the characters. Stitch is my absolute favorite and he was very fun and interactive when we met him in line. Lilo was also very interactive and kept stopping at our table to make trouble. It was by far the best character interaction of any meal this trip! The food though was so so. Definitely nothing special at all. Dinner on the other hand was our hands down favorite! All of our food was delicious and cooked perfectly. I had heard a lot about their dessert too and it definitely lived up to the expectations!

Good to hear about Ohana. That is exactly my previous experiences with Ohana. But I’ve heard some negative dinner reviews lately so I was getting nervous. We are doing both breakfast and dinner on our next trip. Bummer about WCC though. We'll be trying that for the first time too. Maybe I’ll try something other than the skillet. I don’t need that much food anyway lol

Thanks for your reviews! I especially am interested in the Whoop de do Review. The food sounds basic and really delicious. I like comfort food, and don't try the different cultural foods at Disney, so this sounds great.
I was wondering if being in the first seating area (in front) is a good choice or not? I have booked us for this (after 3 years of trying to get a reservation), and wonder if I should change our seating to the #2 area. My husband does NOT want to be IN the show, but to watch it. Same for me. We are both shy and don't want to be bothered and I heard that you have a good chance of being "picked on" if you are seated in #1 area. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you.:)

Nice reviews.

Ohana’ dinner is my family’s favorite restaurant. We’ve been countless times and never got bad food though service was dicey once or twice. But the food, drinks, atmosphere and entertainment have always been consistently top notch.

Whispering Canyon has always been inconsistent. I’ve had the skillet when it’s been excellent and other times, not so good. I always like the salad (apple vinaigrette is yum) and cornbread there even when the chicken is dried out and the ribs are tough. I just wish they still served the s’mores cheesecake. That stuff was magical.

Hello! We did choose Cat 1 and were actually RIGHT in front of the stage next to the piano. The experience from our show was that people from all categories were picked on no matter where they were sitting. The cast members made a couple of side remarks to my DH and a man at the table next to us, but nothing embarrassing or anything where they got called out in front of everyone. The people that got picked to go onstage at the end were from all different sections.

Thanks so much. I guess we will just stay with Cat 1 and hope for the best. We can always turn them down:)

Great reviews. Ohana's is our absolute favorite place for dinner. When they stopped Stitch wandering around we dropped them from our breakfast rotation.
