:confused3 Hi. I have questions about dining? My DH LOVES lobster and is under the impression that on cruises, you can pretty much order what you want, and how much you want! He wants lobster for every dinner since we don't eat it much living in the midwest! Is this the case? Can we order whatever we want, and seconds if we can stand it? Sounds silly I know, but my DH thinks he is paying for it, so he plans on eating up a storm! EGADS!

There is a menu every night with 4-5 appetizer choices, 3-4 soup or salad choices and 6-8 dinner choices. Lobster is served one night. Everynight there is a varied selection, beef, seafood, pasta, chicken, but I remember lobster only being the one night.

You may order as many entrees as you like.

And of course, there are dessert choices too.

Sorry, Lobster is only served one night.....the night before CC. Good news is he can have as many as he wants!!! Better news is that the next day at the adult beach they will serve it for lunch if there is any left from the night before.....

The lobster is served on Semi Formal night - Captains Gala dinner....it is actually baked lobster tail in the shell....

Ever thought of saying "you were on a special diet?" :rotfl2: A lobster tail diet? :rotfl2:

Lobster is offered actually 2 nights on the 7 night cruise. If you order the seafood pasta the night after the lobster, you get a lobster tail on top of your pasta with other seafood stuff. Very yummy!!!! If he likes seafood, you can eat seafood just about everyday. I had seafood everyday except 2 days on the 7 night cruise. They also had a seafood lunch buffet which was the only time I ate the lunch buffet.

On the 3 night Disney Wonder to the Bahamas, do you have to be in a certain dining room or is lobster served in all of the dining rooms on the designated night (before CC).
Thanks!!

We were on the 4 day a few years back and I don't think they serve lobster on the short cruises at all.

We were on the Magic last month and were really looking forward to the lobster, which was good. My husband asked for seconds and the server really frowned and looked at him. He said, "Another one? Well, I'd have to check." Clearly, he was not thrilled. DH felt very uncomfortable and told him to never mind, that he was fine. Server said, OK and went on his way. I was surprised, as I'd read on the boards people who were encouraged to have seconds but that was not the case with us. Also, I had the seafood pasta and while it was very good (as all the food was, I thought), I did not get a lobster tail. Maybe that's just if they have extra or something.

We just returned from the 3 night Wonder. We did not see Lobster on the menu on the ship. However, the first night we ate at Palo, so I don't know about that night. When we were at Castaway Cay, we went to the Adult Beach and ate there. When we went up to get our food, the server told me "we have lobster, the real stuff". And they did. My husband and I both ordered that and they put 2 tails on each of our plates. Delicious!

Having just got back today from the Magic, I check in and see this and I say "Huh? I am so sorry you had a server respond to you like that and sorry that you didn't have enough security in your knowledge to say--why don't we just check with the head server" and show the server up to his or her boss. We ordered 2 each from the outset, including my 9 year old, and they were brought out two each on our entree plates, and our wonderful assistant server removed all 6 from the shells, and the chef came out after the meal to see how we liked everything. Have had extra entrees, and extra lobster before, but the chef, that was a first for us. We had an awesome dining room experience that blew us away on our 4th DCL cruise, and you did not get treated right is my view.

Did notice the lobster tail on the final night pasta dish...and thought about asking for one on my plate along w/ my filet...not sure why I didn't, come to think of it.

I hope that lobster tail snub incident was hopefully an aberration from an otherwise great experience...but somehow, I fear it wasn't...

Really...If a server made me feel uncomfortable in any way about ordering seconds, thirds, or fourths on the lobster, it would most definitely be reflective in his tip (or lack thereof).....

I agree, you should have brought this oversight to the attention of the head waiter....

This rudeness reminds me of an incident I had with a CM on Castaway Cay.....at Cookies, instead of waiting for the beverage attendant to fill a glass for me of fruit punch, I grabbed an empty glass myself....the CM slapped my hand, as if I was an unruly child....I was really, really pissed at this guy, and told him I was going to report him to his supervisor.....I think this must have frightened him, because he sought me out in the bench dining area to offer his most sincere apology, which I accepted....I didnt mention anything to his supervisor. but boy was I upset....I guess everyone has an off day every once in awhile

I was under the impression that if you were wanting extra or additonal servings of food you needed to order it all at once. Like the previous poster said..."they all ordered two tails at the start of the meal".

I too was not real happy with the service we recieved in the dinning areas. I was looking forward to the wait staff offering...and bringing out additional items that they thought we may like. But NEVER...we never got anything extra or diffrent than what we ordered. Even when we'd mention we were having a hard time deciding on a item....From the boards I've heard too many times...of the waiters bring out one of every desert to sample...or bringing two appitizers if the person just couldn't decide. We also never got "extra" treatment with the kids...and the wait staff...with things like the napkins and making ears out of them. But we didn't let it disrupt our trip...and our good time. I know a tad bit of the topic...just started to ramble.. :teeth: Sorry.

Its been my experience with the waitstaff that if you want multiples of certain items, you need only ask...they typically do not bring things out that you dont specifically ask for....Usually, I order 2 appetizers at dinner, and order as such at the beginning...In addition, DW and I cant decide on a single dessert, so we order a "dessert sampler" (LOL) - The waiters have always been very gracious with our requests....

No lobster on the 3 day cruise...what kind of cruise is this? :sad2: LOL - seriously, it is very disappointing...will have to make sure I make it to the adult beach on CC to eat it there! Thanks for the tip!

Has anyone else had lobster tails at the adult beach on CC on a 3-day cruise? DH & I usually cruise by ourselves on 7-day Magic cruises, but we are doing a 3-day Wonder cruise with our DS, DD & DGS in June. DS (age 33) loves lobster and will be so disappointed if he can't have some on the cruise. Hope this a staple at the adult beach lunch!

On our Magic cruise I had lobster at Paolos and to be honest, it was not good. It was full of bits of broken shell and was stringy (I couldn't get it to separate from the shell on the bottom). They apologized and brought me another whole tail, but the same thing. I was disappointed. Now, there was plenty of other things to eat and I was not hungry. It was just a bit off.

As for brining stacks o' food to try this was not my experience. They didn't offer and we didn't ask, but we aren't much for making pigs of our selves. Pretty much one of anything was enough. We couldn't eat more than one portion of dinner, let alone two or more.

My mother, father, sister and her friend ate at Paolo's the same cruise a few nights before us and they had a server who brought them practically one of everything!

We did not have lobster tails on CC. It was ground lobster patties (like crab cakes) but I did not find them appealing (I don't like crab cakes though).

That is completely the opposite of what we experienced. On a totally full ship over this past Spring break, our server practically forced my DH to order two lobster tails (not that he fought too hard). Maybe they were short on your cruise? No other reason I can think of.
