My DH did not like 50's Prime Time, will he like Whispering Canyon any better?

My Dh did not enjoy 50's Prime Time last year. DH did not like the food at 50's, nor did he enjoy the atmosphere or the half hearted server. How is the food at WC and how entertaining is the atmosphere? I would like to try it this time. Thank you!

I wouldn't do it if I were you.

Food at WCC is mediocre at best. Service tends to be slow. Servers are sometimes very "into" it but sometimes not. The atmosphere is VERY loud, too. I'd do something different if I were you.

Whispering Canyon Cafe can be fun but just like with the 50s Prime Time, it all depends on your expectations and your server to meet those expectations. I took both sets of parents to Whispering Canyon and they enjoyed themselves and we had some good times. But, they didn't know anything about the place so they didn't have the "fun" expectations. They saw it as another restaurant. Our server was good but was busy with the antics when we were seated so drinks order weren't taken right away. Then we had to wait for those drink orders to come out because of more hijinks. I could see what our server was doing but to the parents, the service was too slow for them. The in-laws are big after dinner coffee fiends so trying to get refills was a chore for them. It was just a nice meal.

We've crossed off 50s because we're usually ignored since we're just two people. That's fine and I enjoy seeing everything else going on around me. But, again, my husband views this place as somewhere he can get a decent meat loaf.

I would say go somewhere else for dinner.

I prefer WCC at lunchtime, when it's quieter and there's not so much "participation" going on. If you don't want to interact that way, I would make it known to the server. After all, you're the guest and if you want a quiet meal, you should be allowed to have one.

I didn't like the food at Prime Time and I didn't like the "interaction". So we don't eat there. We did once and my food was awful.

It's one reason why we don't do WCC. We've stayed at VWL a few times and every time we go through the lobby, we can't get over the commotion coming from that place. Loud and noisy. And everything echos in the lobby.

If he didn't like Prime Time, I'd avoid WCC. We don't like either restaurant either. Too much noise and confusion as well as mediocre to poor food.

I agree with this. I loved Prime time, but I felt WCC was annoying and I did not like the food. It was one of my least favorite places to eat on the three occasions I've done the dining plan. There are a lot of other places to eat, so I would avoid it.

Our family loved 50's PTC, we'll be going back on the next trip, but we hated WCC. The service was extremely slow. It took almost 3 hours from the time we got there to when we got the check and left (and we did have an ADR). Now, granted, there were 12 of us, but there was absolutely no reason it should take that long. We never had this problem at any of the other restaurants we ate at.

Subscribing.. we have an ADR at WCC for just me and DBF. He's excited about the skillet, but we're not the kind of people who enjoy dinners where we can't hear each other talk... maybe we'll have to change for something else....

If your DH didn't like the food at 50's PTC - there is no reason he wouldn't like the food at WCC. It's a totally different menu.

As for the atmosphere - we enjoy it. But we also have kids, and they enjoy the antics and the pony races, etc.

We enjoyed the food at WCC, while the food at 50's we thought was just ok. We've never had a problem at WCC with not being able to hear each other across the table. That's a pet peeve of mine. I do like being able to talk about our day's activities at dinner. We'll be back to WCC again!
