We visited AK last Monday (6/23). Went to see the Lion King show and while waiting for the show to start my dd10 said she needed to use the restroom. A CM told us to go out a side entry and directed us to a restroom. We were a bit rushed as the show was about to start. Returned to see the show (absolutely wonderful) and as we were leaving, my dd got this panicked look on her face and said "Oh no, Mom ! I think I left my fanny pack in the rest room!". This brand new Minnie fanny pack (purchased the day before) had her lanyard, completely filled with pins from our past 3 trips in it, as well as $55 of her own money she had saved up to bring with her on this trip. She was in a panic ... and so was Mom. We charged back to the rest room and of course the fanny pack was not there. Made our way to Guest Services and sure enough ... someone had turned it into lost and found ... and everything was still there !!!

She was so relieved and I was so very thankful. If by any chance someone on this board found her fanny pack and turned it in, thank you so very much. You made a little girl very, very happy !!!;)

That is such a great story. It makes you believe there really ARE a lot of good people out there!

THAT IS GREAT! I'm sure she was thrilled. Something similar happened with us 2 years ago. "We" lost my DH's wallet with our HP's and credit cards and cash in it and somebody actually took it to guest service competely intact! I couldn't believe it.

That's a very nice story :D Restores our faith in human nature. Your poor DD must have been so upset, then so happy!

My uncle didn't have the same luck a few years ago. He left his in a rest room at the entrance to World Showcase. It was later found in the Lost and Found - empty! Money and our villa keys were gone.

Great luck and quite a bit of the magic. I'm glad your daughter didn't lose her money and pins. What a sad thing that would have been.

Same thing happened to me except in reverse- I found someones wallet in the storage compartment on the Kali Rapids ride at AK. We were getting our things out after the ride and I noticed a wallet, at first I thought it belonged to my DH, but he had kept his in his pocket. I handed it to a CM as soon as we left our raft, and I saw her go over to a nervous -looking gentleman. I think she asked him to describe it as I saw her holding it behind her back as she spoke to him before she handed it over. I didn't think twice, and would hope others would do the same. I can't even imagine the panic and distress that would result if we lost ID, cash, tickets etc. while on vacation.:( I did feel really good that I helped prevent someone from suffering that fate:D I'm glad your DD had someone find her pack who was honest !

Later that afternoon, while still at the AK, my DS left his fan at Pizzafari. We returned there an hour later when he realized it and someone had turned it in!:D I think the heat at the AK affected quite a few people that day!

It's so nice to hear GOOD news for a change. So much that's reported is negative.....Thanks for sharing. I hope your experience will inspire someone else to perform a selfless good deed! :)

That's great. It's so nice when people do the right thing. I'd like to think that lots of people would turn things in without stealing anything.

I found a wallet at Universal a couple of weeks ago; it was under a slide in that Amber caves playground. When I tried to turn it in to the nearest employee I could find (a guy checking height for a ride), he looked at me like I was crazy. He didn't want to take it; I suppose he thought that he would be accused of something. Finally, I convinced him to call a supervisor, and she did take it.

I checked inside, and it did have ID in it, a TX driver's license. The photo appeared to be of an hispanic man in his 30's.

My DH left his camera on the Buzz Light Year Ride.
We notice it 2 mins after we got out of our
space cruiser. We went back to the ride and
asked the CM if she had seen our camera.
As soon as we arrived back - a very nice young man
was getting off the ride was looking for someone to
give a camera to. It was our camera.

First thing I thought of...... he must be a Boy Scout.
That would never happen in NY. :p

WDW must breed magic :)

There is another post on this forum about a stroller being taken.

A number of people then started down the dark side of losing things.

I belive most people, particularly at Disney, will tend to turn things in.

But then I do believe in Pixie Dust!

Thanks for the refreshing thread to read!

Disney does have a very good lost and found system!

During our Easter trip this year I lost my fanny pack in the bathroom at MGM. I waited until park closing but it had not yet been turned in. I had my car keys, my AP's , credit cards, etc. I cancelled my cards, a CM gave us new passes and, Thank God we had a spare set of keys back at our room.

2 days later as we were getting ready to go home when central lost and found called and said they had my fanny pack .
I could not have been happier. I asked for a name of the person who turned it in but there was no info.

P.S. On the same trip I dropped some money at the AK and a Dad there with 2 kids and a wife picked up the money and walked quickly away. My husband caught up with the guy and he tried 3 times to give us less money than I had dropped. Shame on him...especially for the message he sent to his kids standing right there.

Just goes to show there is good and bad everywhere.

WHY is it so much easier to lose stuff at Disney than everywhere else we go???
