We were at WDW in late September to October 8, 2010 and did dress up a bit for MNSSHP.

DD wanted to be a fairy, so we made her a fairy.
Her sister made some wings for her. This is during the wing 'construction process':

These are the completed wings. They have a piece that can be slid into DD's wheelchair between the seat cushion and the seat back. They are painted with a blend of pink and light yellow paint, covered with a layer of iridescent paint and the open area have iridescent sheer fabric in them.

And this is the costume. Since DD uses a wheelchair, we were trying to think of a way to make the costume easy to get on and off. We settled on an apron design which she wore over a fuschia long sleeve top and a pair of dark colored leggings. It was super easy to get on and off and the 'apron' totally looked like it went all around (but she didn't have to sit on a bumpy costume skirt).
The skirt was made of individual flower petals made of different types of fabric - 3 colors of satin, organza with some 'dew' effects, satin with the organza over the top and fine purple netting.

Very cute!! I love the color too! Not all fairies have to be pink and pastel-y. It's almost like the color of Vidia.

Forgot to add.
DD has a kind of dark fuschia colored wheelchair and had a dark aqua sparkly seat cover on it. She also had a string of some small light purple lights attached to the underside of her wheelchair.
Because they are on a light sensor they go on and off depending on how much light is shining on the sensor.

That's what Vidia thought too. She really liked the colors.

Rosella guessed DD was a flower fairy and asked if she had help from Luminessa (?spelling) for the sparkles and from Silvermist for the dew drops.

Tinkerbell was kind of clueless. She asked "Are you trying to be Vidia?"

Vidia was the best. She said "I like your colors kid. Are you a Fast Flyer like me?"
DD nodded her head yes and Vidia said, "I like your flying contraption. Nice colors. Bet it goes really fast."
I said this flying contraption (also called a fuschia wheelchair) was not as fast as the one we left at home - that one can go 7 miles per hour.
Vidia was suitably impressed!

That is great! I love it when you get a great reaction from the characters. And that costume is beautiful! What a great job on the wings-- so detailed.

Fabulous!

The apron was genius. What a great idea.

I have to credit my older DD with that idea and finding a pattern for me to adapt. The flower petals were my invention.
The wings were totally my DDs. They talked about size, colors, etc.

I love the apron idea! That is genius. We live in Texas and it could be 50 or 90 for Halloween. It makes it very difficult to plan a costume, but the apron overlay would solve that for "kids" of all ages...fun!

Thanks.
We figured the apron would work well for a couple of reasons.
One was that DD would not have to sit on the skirt.
Another was easy on and off for the kid in the wheelchair.
The third reason was that we could change the clothes underneath for the weather. If it had been real warm, she would have worn a short sleeve top and shorts. If it had been colder than it ended up being, we would have layered whatever we needed - sweatshirt over long sleeve shirt over short sleeve shirt.

Finally got to post some pictures - here's DD with Rosetta

And here's one with Vidia (DD thought she was pretty funny)

She's absolutely beautiful! The dress looks perfect on her and she is obviously having a great time. :)

DD loves sparkles and lights. When we are WDW we always take light up toys . I know she would love lights on her chair as well. Are yours battery powered? Also, if you don't object, where did you get them?
