My DD4's first paying job

My DD4 was offered an awesome job by my brother (her uncle). He said he would pay her to make sure that we did NOT bring him a souvenier from WDW. He paid her $20 (which she can spend on herself on the trip) to ensure he doesn't get anything. Then he gave her $20 more to NOT get a souvenier for my dad too. So, she gets $40 to spend on herself for making sure we don't buy them presents. She wasn't sure if she should take the deal (I think she thought it was a trick), but we told her it was okay. We knew they didn't really want anything anyway (although we are making an exception if we find a not-ugly Grumpy baseball cap with the mesh sides for my dad since we have been looking for one for five years....)

I thought it was a novel way to give her spending money while making sure he doesn't get any Disney stuff at his house.

That is cute! I like to give a little money to kids that I know are going to disney. It makes it special for them to buy something for themselves.

My DS10 just got his first job. He is helping me mow a lawn that is a lady that is moving away and won't have time to do it this summer.

I love it. What a clever way to be able to give your daughter some spending money and let it be known that he doesn't want anything. It took me a long time to realize that most people really aren't interested in souvenirs from other people's trips. I think your brother handled that very well.
