My DD broke the school record!!!!

OK as you can see by my tag it says my dD broke the school record -- actually she ran the mile the fastest for girls in her grade every year since 1st but this year she really did break the all time school record. The record was 7:16 and she ran 6:47. She was so excited, she has been training for months.

She is 9. Very competitive.

Only 9! WOW!! Do you have a track team at the school? My DD is 7 and loves to run, but we don't have a track team at her school. I have also looked for running clubs for her and we don't have any of those. So, she gets to run while she plays soccer.

She runs on the Catholic track team, only one in town. She is not allowed to run in the finals though because we don't belong to a Parish. We crack up in church because as soon as the Pastor says "In the name of the Father........" she now automatically crosses herself. She also learned the Hail Mary. She loved running, the 800 was her best event. In 7th grade she can run for the middle school.

Well the tag fairy got it a little confused but I knew she would break it eventually. She missed it by one second in 3rd grade, I knew with her running track she could do it this year.
