If I wanted to be in the birthing room with the two of them when she has the baby!!!!

I have 3 thoughts on this:

1. I am so very touched by this, I thought she would only want Skyler with her.

2. I am a bit nervous as hospitals are not on my fav.

3. I am so very, very excited!!!!

Guess that means Yes!!!!!! I will see the birth of my first grandchild.

Oh, how exciting for you.

That is something that I would absolutely love to do if I ever had the chance.

Hopefully not too soon though ;)

That's wonderful!! Hope you enjoy it and all goes well!! :goodvibes

My mom was able to be in the birthing room when my DD now almost 13, was born. She still rates it as one of the best experiences of her life. It meant so much to all of us to have her there.

I have 3 other children, and for various reasons, she couldn't see any of them actually being born. (oldest is 20, they didn't do things like that back then, 2 others were C-section)

She has that special connection with this one DD. :sunny:

That is so special! My mom was in the room with DH and I when both of my kids were born, and that is such a precious memory for me. Mom has gone home to Jesus since then, and I am grateful every time I look at the pictures of her holding my babies right after they were born. My DD was born very quickly, and I was pretty out of it so mom got to hold Kari even before I did. She just loved that, and told everyone about it. What a blessing for both of you! Enjoy!

Mom was with me when I had Shelby. I think that is one of the reasons her and shelby are so close. When shelby was born, she was sick and they had to pump her stomach, so it was mom that was able to go over and comfort her and let her know that we loved her. Mom also was the one who handed her to me. Shelby's bio dad was out in the hallway (too chicken to come in!), and it was one of the most serene moments I have ever had, me, my baby and my mom taking care of both of us. Gosh I do love that lady!!

I was at the birth of both my granddaughters and it was amazing. :lovestruc The first one it was just my DD's DH and myself, their second one his mother was there also.

My mom was at the birth of both of my boys. And I am so grateful she was.

I had both my mother and my DS, then almost 8, at the birth of my daughter, but they left the room once her head was showing (my son felt ill -- hope he remembers that one for awhile) but came back in within minutes so my son could be the first to hold our new family member (other than Dad). What an experience!

That is wonderful!! Hope all goes well!! That is going to be such a great experience being able to bond right away with your grandchild!!

We had plans of DD24 (now) being there in the birthing room with us when DD11 was born, but it didn't work out that way. She went to the lamaze classes with us so she would be prepared. 8 weeks before DD was due she went on a mini vacation with her father (ex husband) at that time dr decided to take DD by emergency C-section.

She returned home to find mom in the hospital and her baby sister fighting for her life. DD11 was 2 pounds 5 ounces, very early, very sick, but a real fighter.

Congrats!! I hope that my DD will ask me when the time comes.... :goodvibes

my mom was there for my dd's (now 11) and i was mighty impressed since she always directed us to see dad when we cut ourselves growing up :rotfl2: she was squimish with hospitals as well but i think doing the birthing center tour our hospital offered helped out some.

congrats on the new grandbaby

What a wonderful experience to be there when that precious grandchild is born. I was asked by my DD and SIL to be there. His mom can't stand hospitals and seeing someone in pain from childbirth. I was able to take the first pictures of Liliana and got to hold her when she was less than 15 minutes old. I just found out that #2 is on the way and can't wait to be there for this birth too.
