My DD almost gave me a heartattack...

She calls me from school to tell me that her teacher is making fun of her!! , she said he was calling her silly names ( and she's giggling while telling me that ) then the teacher gets on the phone and tells me, yes mom, we are having a silly day here and I'm calling her names .
I laughed and told both of them to go back to their sillyness and have a great time.
The teacher said in low voice that kids are very nervous today and he decided to declare today a silly day.
But don't they know that when someone calls from school it means something happened?? My poor heart is still trying to calm down, LOL.

How wonderful that a teacher realizes a teachable moment. Yes, he could have kept a stright face and gone on with the lesson plans. But, instead he thought of their needs and changed things up a bit. Way to go, teacher!

That's the first thing I thought....I wish my teachers would have been like him, LOL.

He sounds like a great teacher. One that is really able to read the moods of his students and sense when they need some levity added to their day.
