My DC/SW Vacation Trip Report

Hello,

This is my first trip report. I hope it will be helpful to others.

Around a year ago we decided to plan a trip to Discovery Cove. We are a Disney family who usually takes a cab to Sea World for a day. We own DVC and enjoy all things Disney. This would be a very different vacation for us. I found a lot of helpful info on these boards. Special thanks to Gina

Yesterday started our adventure. We flew JetBlue because they had the best price for the flights we wanted. We enjoyed the flight & felt JB had nice comfortable seats & friendly flight attendants.

Rented a full size car through Dollar with AAA discount. There was a short line & it moved quickly. The man at the counter didn't try to push extras on us. We were able to pick from a row of cars.

Checked in to Marriott Residence Inn SW. The checkin was quick and easy. The room is clean and the beds are comfortable. So far, we are very happy with our decision.

We realized this morning we are in a handicapped room. The master shower has a hand held sprayer. Not a big deal. The kid's bathroom has a regular shower head.

Please give us some detail on DC. Also, I heard the SeaWorld tickets are included in our DC price. Is that true?

The weather is perfect!

We enjoyed a nice breakfast & then headed to our cabana. We love our cabana! It's on the Grand Reef. We've been in there since it opened Our dolphin swim is at 11:10. So excited!

Yes DC tickets come w/admission to Sea World & Aquatica.

After swimming in the Grand Reef, we headed over to the Sand Dollar cabana for our dolphin swim. Our trainers were April & Bryan and our dolphins were Kyla & Rascal. The dolphin interaction is fantastic! We loved meeting & touching the dolphins. The trainers were really nice & added to the experience. The tow back was amazing! We had the elite package & my youngest DS was so surprised to be asked to retrieve a "toy" from Rascal's mouth.

After our awesome dolphin time, we ate lunch & then headed to the warmer water to float, swim & explore.

Our favorite spot was the Grand Reef. We loved swimming with all the fish & found the cooler water more refreshing.

We are very happy with all the pictures & looking forward to watching the video of our dolphin experience.

As "Disney People" we were blown away by Discovery Cove. The day was relaxing, informative, special, wonderful......

Very happy to have tried something new.

Yesterday we went to Sea World. Our tickets (the picture id's) didn't work. The man at the gate had to enter every number by hand & then we had to go to customer service to get printed tickets. They said the salt water causes that to happen.

We enjoyed all the shows except Clyde Seymour. The pantomime was very funny, but the rest of the show was just ok.

My kids had fun on all the rides.

We spent some relaxing time watching the dolphins swim. It is nice and cool in there, if you need a break from the sun & heat.
