Do i need to reserve tickets for it in advance ,if so how can i do it?

Do i need to order for a small birthday cake??

What kind of birthday packages are available for 2 persons + 1 kid at disney??

What else i can expect in disney??

You can get park passes ahead of time, we use www.undercovertourist.com.

YOu need to make resort reservations ahead of time, but first decide where you want to stay. Kids seem to like AllStar Movies.

Then you should make reservations for perhaps a character meal, you can check out the menus and character dining at www.allearsnet.com.

I don't think there are birthday packages. If you want help with packages and reservations, people here recommend a sponsor, Dreams Unlimited. Or try the AAA if you belong, or another travel agent that specializes in Disney.

It is definitely a place where you need to pre-plan and get help.:scared1: You really can't just decide to go and expect you can stay at the place of your choosing and eat at any restaurant you want.

Good luck with the planning. :dance3: :woohoo:  :grouphug:

She's going to have a birthday she'll remember the rest of her life. She's lucky to have such great parents! :)

We celebrated my son's 1st birthday in 1999. We stayed at PORS and we had breakfast at Chef Mickey's. They brought out a cupcake with a candle and sang Happy Birthday to everyone celebrating a birthday.

We went back for his 4th birthday in 2002 and we are headed back for his 10th next week.

Since my daughter is a May baby we will be celebrating her un-birthday while we are there.

There's lots of little things you can do at WDW. If you are staying on the property, you can have a gift basket waiting in your room when you check in or on any day of her birthday. But with her being 1 a basket may not be that exciting for her. Also, you can order a cake through the reservation line and it can be delivered to whatever restaurant you make reservations at.

Also, when you get to the Magic Kingdom, you can go to guest services and get a birthday pin and a first time to Disney pin. The disney cast typically yell out happy birthday all day when they see the pin (at least that's what they did for my husband when I took him for his 30th :rotfl: ).

HI:wave2: Welcome to the Disboards! You will love it here.

People are friendly, and there probably isn't a question you could ask that someone won't know the answer to.

I brought my twin boys to Disney for their 1st birthday. We got the birthday button as mentioned and we did a character breakfast at O'hana's in the morning. At O'hana's they also had an area where they took a photo of you if you wanted. It is one of my favorite pictures of our family of all time. My husband and I are each holding a boy, and now that they are 4, 1 years old seems so long ago..... But I'm so happy to have that picture from their 1st birthday. (I will try to get my husband to scan it for me, so that I can post it).

Also, one of the memorable things that we did that day, was to have their first haircut at the Main Street Barber. We got some great photos, and the stylist's there are experts in handling children. They get lots of stickers and their hair came out great. Also, the stylist wrapped my babies hair for me, to keep as a keepsake. I didn't ask for this, but I was so touched that she thought I might like to keep a lock of their baby hair.

Just going to WDW for their 1st birthday is special. I wouldn't necessarily go all out for a big cake, unless you are going to have several people in your party. We did do the cupcake with candle thing, and that's about all (if that) that a 1 y.o. can handle. They will not remember that birthday. But YOU will, and if you take great photos, you will have great stories to tell them about that day, and it will be special for them all over again, when they are older.

I recently read that Disney is doing a Celebration year. I'm not sure when it starts, but if you are in the parks the day of bday you get in free. Have to have birth certificate. If you already have a ticket for that day they are giving out other gifts in place of the free day in the park. I'm not sure of all the particulars though.

Never mind! I just reread your message and realized that your baby is turning one year old. Although that is such a great age, you have to be at least 3 years old. DUH, on my part, you don't pay if they are under 3 anyway.
