My daughters "baby" is drving me crazy!

I had the baby for a weekend in 8th grade.. Her name was Emma.. I thought that all of my kids forever would be called emma. I must be crazy. I did not like the project.. haha it was extra credit. I think I could like 70% or something because we had a bracelet on our hand and every time it cried we were supposed to put the sensor on the baby.. Well since you were only supposed to have one we couldn't have parents or friends help out. I actually got two because I had a parade I was marching in that weekend and my sister who was younger then me helped take care of it. She did a better job then I did and it was funny because on her sensor it said she took care of it more then I did. HAHA!

I ended up putting it in the garage because it was one that would not stop crying.

We are supposed to be making blankets for project linus today for Give a day. She states she doesn't know how she will be able to make one with a crying baby. I better go Kami is crying again. I need to wake the little mother up!

How did you find the Project Linus on Give a Day. I have been looking for something like that. I knit and I wanted to knit a small blanket for this. But whenever I look on the list there isn't anything listed like that. And the hours they list are impossible. Anything near home is during the week during the day. I have to be at work then. Getting frustrated.

I am on another message board and they were discussing TeenMom and 16&Pregnant. I wondered if high schools still did this baby program as my DS' are 27&24yo and they did this back when they were in h.s.

Now that this program has been around for 10+ years; are there any stats that this program even works?

I ask this because I watch Judge Judy (allot) and seems that more and more young ladies and I mean 19yo and younger, have babies. AND what is worse is the baby's dad is either usually not in the baby's life at all OR better still is in jail. Just yesterday, there were two young ladies both under 19yo suing each other over a car and as the Judge was asking them questions, they both stated they had babies.

They had a baby program when I was in high school but it wasn't like this- you had to carry a bag of flour and not have it be damaged or anything, and you had to bring it everywhere with you. At the end of the week they made a huge batch of cookies with all the flour, so not sure what lesson that was going for

I think if it gives teens a reality check of what having a baby would be like it's a great idea.

My best friend back then had a baby at 16 so I saw it first hand. It wasn't easy and it wasn't always cutesy and fun.

this is third time i have tried to post so lets see if this will work. we survived another night with the baby. I had my DD sleep with me so we could take turns with the baby. Making the blankets for Project Linus was very difficult for her due to being left handed and having to cut with right handed scissors. The baby crying every 15 minutes added to her stress. She began crying and blamed her hormones being out of wack because of the baby. She is supposed to drop off the baby during her 2nd period class but has a Promise to Keep meeting at a nearby middle school encouraging the middle schoolers abstinence. Though the president of the club last year was pregnant She will probably have to take the baby with her when she speaks. When we left the house to drop off the blankets my DD started yelling to turn back she had left the baby at home so we had to turn around to get it. We arrived with 15 minutes to spare. The blanket coordinator looked at me when I rushed in and asked me if I was alright little did she know that we had little sleep, no showers and had to drive 2 counties over in 30 minutes to get the blankets done and delivered. I will be glad when I am no longer a grandmother
