My daughter is crushed today

My daughter Jessica has been practicing in school for their holiday concert today. This is her first one. Last evening, she told me she wasn't feeling good. Sure enough, she had a fever of 101.4. I gave her tylenol and after hearing her beg for me to send her to school today, I told her that IF she had no fever this morning when she woke up, I would consider sending her. Well, this morning she was 101.1. No school. She also has a cough, headache and "smooshy" tummy. She is more upset about missing her concert than anything. She was looking forward to this for 2 months. Oh well....there is always the spring concert.

That is disappointing! Does she feel up to a family concert...maybe let her perform in front of the family and make it a big deal for her?....

Poor Jessica. I know how hard it is when they practice and then don't get to take part. I agree with the family concert. All that practicing shouldn't go to waste. Get better soon Jessica. You'll be terrific and even better for the spring concert!!

I asked her this morning if she would like to show us her performance. She just sadly shook her head.....

The poor thing. It's hard enough for them just being sick without the added disapointment of missing something special. Maybe when she's feeling better she'll change her mind about doing the show for you. Maybe an ice pop and some cuddle time with Mommy will help a little. Hope she's better soon.
