Ok, so today, the house is quiet, both kids napping, the teenager playing some video game.....

I knew it was too good to be true.

My daughter comes down the stairs and says she has to go to the bathroom, there is the strangest odor wafting behind her.....

She has something on her face...I ask her:

Mom: "Molly, what is on your face?"
Molly: "Nothing."
Mom: "No, seriously, is it makeup?"
Molly: "No, it is NAIL POLISH"

Her ENTIRE room covered in red nail polish!

It looks like a scene from Carrie up there!

Her princess lamp? RUINED!

Me? I called poison control as it is on her lips, her eye lashes......

::::I love being a mom::::::::::I love being a mom::::::::::I love being a mom::::::

The pics say it all!

I think your signature says it all.....

I remember when DD cut her own hair - at Christmas right before family pictures. She survived.

Oh, and good luck.

You know, I really like "Carrie".

Betcha that lamp will sell on eBay.

Oh no!! We need more pictures. Is she okay? How did you get it off her face? Wow -this is a new one.

OMG, Kristin! That is hillarious...I mean awful! I hope she gets cleaned up okay so you can actually laugh at this - in about a year!:scared1:
Good luck!

Ok, Mindy- for the low low price of NOTHING, I will save the lamp for you!!!

So, does she like her lamp better this way? :rotfl2:

I think I would have left marks had it been my DD.
:rolleyes1

OMG that is funny. NOT now of course but it will be........

My son painted his nursery in poop once. That was so not fun to clean up.

hang in there:hug:

Ohmygosh - that is awful!! I would flip out if one of my girls did that (and one of them DEFINITELY has it in her!). What on earth did you say? Or do?

Wow, it looks like something out of those crime documentaries. I'm glad nothing really happened. Nail polish can be a big hazard.

Got to love being a mom!!

I have had to call poison control my DS5...many times....

At least you can laugh about it!

That lamp would be staying in her room for a long time, and the pictures should be saved for her wedding speech! :rotfl:

So I guess she is protesting against Disney. I mean why else would you "paint" all over the princesses.

Either that or she is expressing herself, in which, you may what to seek professional help. :)

Hang in there. And laugh.....

Oh no! Sorry to chuckle but I can do that since it wasn't one of my kids.

Well, when she came down the stairs, her hands were inside her sweater. As she removed them, she looked as though she had red gloves on.....

After my shock wore off, I went and got the nail polish remover and worked until I ran out of polish.....she is still red.

Poison control told me to wash her face with warm water and brush her teeth...

Unfortunately, I can't save the lamp....see what the pictures do not say is the lamp is porcelain. The skirts light up as a night light. Now, it looks more like a bordello in her room (a look I am just not willing to have for a four year olds room).

So, we bought more NPR and took the paint off her dresser, her bookcase and the rug. I am not sure my skin has eve been so dry.

She is still red, her hands will be red for days I am sure. I can't get it out of the crevices of her hands and her nails.

She has VERY long hair and I am not sure it will come out anytime soon.

Her eyelashes......:scared:

Ugh.....

Oh a brighter note...she said "Mommy, I was thinking of Mickey as I painted my lamp!"

Anyone know how to kill the smell of NPR??

I am having flashbacks to 1994 and Max with blue and red sharpies!! Everything in his room was marked! walls, rugs, doors, floor..... The cat!:crazy2: I do not miss those moments
