My Dad

I lost my dad either late or early thursday nite or friday morn ,i am almost sure it was early eve ,thursday ,he was flying home from a trip to lakeland ,fla,(airplane meet called sun and fun)he crashed in Alabama ,i am devestated ,my entire family is in pain,we feel so bad ,as some of you know the same feelings !We still dont have complete details ,we have been getting so many stories,but our guess is ,that he hit unexpected fog,my nephew called the rangers in the state park he crashed in and said a camper trailer had gone off the side of the mountain that eve at around 6 due to fog ,so i believe it was unexpected.The ranger said it was the worst accident he had seen there and there had been many in the past 20 yrs.We are all so very sad.

We often see these stories on the evening news but seldomly have a chance to offer any direct support and comfort to the family or families involved as we have no connection to them. But be reassured that many people say a prayer when they hear of accidents like this. "this too shall pass" but always remember.

Hikers on Cheaha find plane crash:

DELTA The bodies of two Michigan men were found inside the wreckage of a single-engine Cessna airplane discovered on Mount Cheaha Friday morning by two hikers.

They notified park officials around 11 a.m., said Bert Collison of the Cleburne County Emergency Management Agency.

The identities of the two men were being withheld pending notification of relatives, but Clay Coroner Dale Rush said they were 78 and 51 years old.

Cleburne County Emergency Medical Services Interim Director Donald Cofer said the plane crashed around midnight in dense fog about a mile south of the park's general store.

Cheaha State Park Superintendent David Odom said it was the 13th plane crash within a 20-mile radius of the park since the late 1940s and the first in four years.
