I am so sorry for your loss. The Holidays are a very hard time to lose someone you love but take some time to know he isn't far away from you in spirit and is looking down on you and has his hand on your shoulder as you embark on telling your children this sad news.
Do something positive today in your dads memory. I want you to let the kids tell you their favorite memory of grandaddy and tell them your favorite stories. Be strong for them and let them know it is ok to cry when they feel they need to but also laugh and smile when they think of him too.
Also never feel you are a burden to us by sharing this news.I for one feel honored that you feel that we are "friends" even though some of us have never met to share his passing with us. We are here for everyones good news and bad and we always will be. Please share with us more if it helps you. Just know you have thousands of "friends" praying for you and heavy in hearts for your family.
i know exactly how you feel,my dad passed away 3 years ago tomorrow. i'm so sorry for your families loss. let the kids know that he's in peace now and out of pain, and let them know how much he loved them. my prayers are with you.
I am so very sorry for your heartbreaking loss. The loss of a loved one is never easy, but the holidays seem to magnify everything. My thoughts are with you and your family.
Please take comfort in the fact that your children knew their grandfather and I see from your post that they are old enough to have memories of him. That is a wonderful gift that will bring them much joy and comfort in the future. What I wouldn't give for my dd to have known my dad..... Hang in there, and post away if you need support.
