Hello!
I just returned from my 12 night stay at CSR. We have stayed previously at POR and wanted to try something new. We checked in on a Wednesday (8th) and checked out on a Monday (20th). We were the only people there checking in (we arrived around 12:30). The CM who checked us in was great. She asked if we were new to WDW (no), the resort (yes), any room requests (kinda), and anything we would need to help make our stay most enjoyable. We asked for a room close to a pool and bus stop. We got a room on the second floor about 3 minutes to the quiet pool and about 5 minutes to the bus stop. We are NOT fast walkers so it might be shorter for others. We were about 7-10 minutes away from the main building and the main pool. We were in Casitas 5, 2nd floor for those of you who are familiar with the resort.
We only had one complaint-the people painting! It wasn't a main issue but we were not informed of this happening when we checked in. It was just in our section too. They started at 7 am--so we heard the beeping of the machines and the voices of the workers. It was just annoying on our down days to wake up to that!
Any questions???

Robin,

Nice to know we are coming to CSR for the `1st time on dec 20-29..I was looking at casitas 4..which i think is right next to the bus stop 2 and a bit closer to the main bldg..I know it will be further away from dig site pool..but wont have much time to swim and who knows about the weather then...do you thing casitas 4 is a good choice. main thing is to be close to bus stop2 since I hear thats where the bus sto[s 1st is that correct?..this way it wont be full when it comes to dropoff and pickup..im afraid If i stay at or near the bus stop 1 which is the last stop and at the main bldg..IT could be full by the time it gets there....Any ideas You have or things to do at the resort would be helpful..to pass the time on our off days from the parks...have 2 kids 13 and 9.. thanx

Glad you had a nice time. We stayed at CSR in August, and we loved it as usual, but we also had problems with the painting. We were in Casitas 5, and there was large cranes with the men painting the building and there were lots of painters in the hallway painting as well. The smell was bad outside in the walkways, but luckily it did not smell once we got inside the room.

I was upset though that we were not at least advised about this upon check in, I believe they could of had at least told us since it was a big project going on. I did end up complaining about this to a manager, and told them that the biggest concern was us not being advised upon check in. She offered to have our room changed, but we did not bother since we just came from a split stay at YC and had already unpacked, plus it did not smell inside the room. They at least listened to me and did a few nice things for us. I did not expect anything, but wanted to voice my concerns. I still love CSR though and can't wait to get back!

Brucerob62-
I would think that Casitas 3,4, or 5 would be the closest to bus stop 2. It is NOT like right outside the door though. It's going to be a 3-5 minute walk. Those sections do have a quiet pool, just in case you want to jump in in between your park visits. We wanted to do the Sea racers or boat rentals but the marina was closed. We weren't that impressed with the gift shop. It's nice but not wonderful. We did like the Pepper Market food court with all it's options. It is a bit confusing on your first visit but everyone there was super friendly and helpful.
Let me know if there is anything else you would like to know about!
Hope you have a wonderful trip.

We just got back also...stayed at CSR from the 7th to the 14th...it was heaven.
And then AKL from 14th - 18th (but that's another story). We were in Cabana 8B, 2nd Floor, Corner Room, 8603 so no painting issues on our side of the lake that I saw. The Dig Site was fantastic as usual. What I would give to be back there right now. Thinking about a May 27 - June 3 stay with FD...hmmm...just back but I have to at least have a trip in the works to keep my sanity. I know most of you can relate!

How many floors are there in the buildings? at CSR? thanx

I think our building (casistas) had 5 floors. I could be wrong and there was only 4. Mom and I can't really remember. We keep going back and forth on it. I think the elevator had a button for 5 but when I look at the resort floors I think I am only counting 4. UGH it stinks being old and having a bad memory. HA
I hope someone else can help you with this....

4 floors in the Casitas. 2 in the Cabanas. I think 3 and 4 in the Ranchos depending on the building.

We were there 8/28 - 9/12 and they were painting some exteriors too, they were working on Casitas 4 primarily. The painting didn't seem to cause much noise or disruption though. They've got to do it sometime. CM did not mention it to us at check in, but we were in Casitas 3 and that looked to be already done.
