My Computer Clock is WRONG.......

Go to settings and then control panel then click on Date/time and you can change the time or date. it isn't hard at all, I can do it I am sure you can too.

You can also just double-click on the time on the taskbar at the bottom. This will bring up a window with the clock and calendar. If you want it to update automatically in the spring, make sure the "automatically adjust for daylight savings" option is checked. There are 3 buttons: OK, Cancel & Apply. So if you think it's wrong, you can always hit Cancel & wait for your husband.

Gail T - Any time! I often talk to people who complain about Microsoft products, but one thing they are pretty good about is giving you multiple ways of doing things. A good rule of thumb is to right click before searching for things. Most times, a pop-up menu will appear. If it doesn't have what you want, you just hit ESC.

I could have said just Right-Click on the time & choose "Adjust Date/Time." That works, too.

I really don't think there's a way you can mess up your computer by resetting the time on the clock. All you have to know is what time it is and then type it in. It's easier than resetting the clock on your microwave.

You could also try restarting (if you didn't do that already today) most PC clocks will automatically change to standard/daylight time when they are restarted the first time after the change.

Mine didn't change either, I just got done resetting it. It always has the wrong time anyway, I swear I have little grimlins in my computer that go and change the time on me.

Princess Michelle - If your computer doesn't hold the time properly, the battery probably needs changing. The ones I've changed have been somewhere on the motherboard & are similar to a watch battery, sort of . . . meaning round & flat. Usually the battery lasts years! However, we have a computer that needs a new battery about every 9 mos to a year. It usually starts losing about 12 hours & you just think "oh, I set it wrong last time" - but eventually it gets days or months off & won't hold from one boot to the next.

If you aren't comfortable doing it yourself, most any repair shop should be able to do it while you wait. Just tell them why you're bringing it in when you call.
