Just received a text saying I am a winner in the 2nd category ($85,000) My Coke Rewards with batch #----- & to send my batch # via email to larrying73@gmail.com.
So curious but also afraid check it out, lol. I don't usually put my cell # down, just the house phone which always goes to an answering machine.
Sometimes when I enter my codes, I'll do one or two of the 3 point sweepstakes entries and I just now checked my account and the only two I am still in the running for don't end til the end of this month.
I'm thinking scam...

So...
A) You "won" a contest you're not entered in
B) You're supposed to reply to a gmail email address

Run far, far, far away!

I would say scam as well but you could contact Coke Rewards customer service dept. The number is on their website. They may want to forward the information to their fraud department.

I'm with the PP. Sounds very fishy to me. I've been doing My Coke Rewards for YEARS and never even heard of a 2nd category or any sort of $85k giveaway. Needless to say you wouldn't be responding to "joe schmo at gmail!!

.

Thanks, I had posed the question on their "Ask Chip" chat thingy but that was no help, didn't think about looking for a phone#.
So the agent there said it was probably a 'phishing' scam. One thing to look for was that they were using a 'free' email account instead of a business account.

Thanks guys! I know there are alot of people on the Dis who do the coke rewards & was wondeing if anyone had received anything like this before.
I would never have responded to a text message anyway. They didn't/haven't tried to email me which is what I would think I would receive if I had really won!
Off to see if there is any new rewards merchandise ....
