My son has had a stomach bug since Thursday and we are suppose to fly out Tuesday morning.

I'm just wondering what others have done in the same situation.
If we were driving I would postpone but we have a flight book and changing it would cost us almost 400 dollars!

Help and some prayers would be good too!
I'm looking for any advice.
Thanks.

One of our trips, when we stayed at the Poly, my youngest we got sick the day before we were supposed to fly home. We got onto the monorail to go to Epcot and he was fine, half-way there he said he was tired. By the time we got through the gates and into the first shop on the left side he was burning up with fever and so tired and weak he could hardly walk. Of course we weren't prepared. Luckily they had single packs of children's ibuprophen and Tylenol for sale. I gave him a dose and he and I went back to the room. My husband and other son went on to eat and play for a while. I got him back onto the monorail. He slept the whole way back on the monorail. Luckily we were staying at the Poly because I could just take a short walk carrying him back to the room. We alternated Tylenol and ibuprophen every 3 hours until fever broke and he felt a bit better. By the next day he was still sick, but could do a bit more. We kept our flight and things just got better from there as far as he felt. I was glad it was our last full day there. I am not sure what I would have done in the situation that you are in, call the doctor and see their opinion. Maybe a few days on an antibiotic would help out? Ya know, when I was little the doctors gave a shot to get kids over illness quickly. Too bad that isn't what they do anymore.
I wish you luck and good wishes that he recovers quickly and the trip is perfect.

I'm just thinking your son will probably be alright by Tuesday. It's you and other family members that need to be careful now. In our family, these bugs tend to visit everyone, one person at a time. :(

Wash your hands a lot!!!! Good luck! Hope you have a healthy trip! :goodvibes

I when we get the flu we take this
http://www.oscillo.com/
It dissolves under the tongue and taste like sugar.

and we are feeling better very quickly. There is a kids version of this. You can buy it at most drugstores. We ALWAYS carry with us when we go to Disney. I also take a bottle of ginger capsules which you can find in the vitamin section at the drugstore. I would also pack some peppermint patties or peppermint hard candies, saltine crackers.

If someone happens to get sick on your trip a good thing to do is send someone to CBR and have them order the kids meal. It comes with a little plastic bucket. Good for catching those yucky messes.

Wash your hands often. Especially don't touch the seat back tray on the plane they are full of germs. As soon buckle up I use purell. As soon as I get off I head straight to the bathroom and wash my hands even before I use the bathroom and once again when I am done using the bathroom!
I give everyone a small purell bottle to carry on their belt loops.

Your right he is getting better already! I've been disinfecting everything and telling everyone to wash there hands and I've been washing all the bedding in hot water and changing towels frequently.

So far so good. (fingers crossed)
Thanks for the good tips. We are renting a car so a trip to Wal-mart is planned and I'll see about picking some of the things mentioned.

Thanks and I hope no one else gets sick!

Don't forget to throw out the toothbrushes too.

Glad to hear your son is feeling better. My daughter got a virus the week before our trip in October, and I was glad it happened.before we got to FL. It took her 3 days before feeling better and we did like you - were adamant about doing what we could to not spread it to others. It seemed to work and we had a great trip. Good luck and hope you have a wonderful time in Disney!
