If you have a vet that will board your cat, I would do that. That is the only thing that gave me piece of mind about the situation while we were gone. Our cat was diagnosed with diabetes just before we left and even though the vet tried to get her regulated--she just was too far gone already and there was nothing the vet could do for her.
So, please call your vet tomorrow and insist that you bring the cat in immediately. Sorry again to hear about your baby (cat)!
We just put our male cat down a couple weeks ago--cancer.

aw:My thoughts exactly and if your regular vet is not available then there is SOMEONE in your town I am sure that would take her if you explain the circumstances, no way no how would I just not try to find someone to see my animals if they were sick and then head off on vacation to wonder how they are fairing while I am gone, that is just plain cruel. I went through this in Feb. I had a 20 year old cat that was failing and wouldn't you know he got really bad the night before I was to leave on a ski trip............so there I was at 4:30 am at an emergency vets office to have him put to sleep, but at least I knew I did right by him and he was not left for someone else to have to die, You 2 need to do the right thing, and I am sure there is some vet that will see him, he has been your friend for 7 years and deserves to be treated as such.almacdonald said:What about a 24 hour clinic? They usually work on a walk in basis. It'll put your mind at ease if you can get your cat better before you go on your trip. Good luck!
I'll second your thoughts..........I have been at work all day and looked for this thread as soon as I got home for some sort of update, I too thought that maybe the parents could take the cat in and at least find out what is wrong.alliecats said:I kind of got the feeling she has already made up her mind the kitty has to get better on its own and didn't appreciate all the advice & encouragement to get kitty to the vet. If I am wrong, I apoogize now... but she seems to have made up her mind that no vet would see her even though that's not true. I just don't think she wanted to deal with it. Again, if I am wrong, I'm sorry. I hope I am--I can't understand being so passive--vacation or not. If nothing else, mom & dad could take kitty to the vet. Vacations are exciting, but I could never get over the guilt if I just left things to go one way or another.
