my cat made a mess!

I hope you all have some wisdom on how to get cat pee (sorry, no other pleasant way to say it) out of carpet. My cat decided to go on the carpet upstairs rather than make the trip downstairs to the litterbox. Not sure if it is because we are renovating the downstairs and she feels a little confused... but am looking for any suggestions on what to do to get out the smell. I tried Nature's Miracle and that helped a little. Any advice?

The best way is with a wet/dry vacuum---or if you have a carpet cleaner you can use that

Wet the area with warm water and vacuum it up==wet again using pinesol and vacuum it up===do it once again with pinesol and vacuum it should be fine now with no left over smell

Bump! Our cat has issues with this, too, sometimes, and I'm always on the lookout for new tips to clean it and get her to quit.
